We enjoyed the tasting room and vineyards, but the informative chat made the tour come alive so much you want to live there. Great atmosphere when you appreciate the work and artistry all around the property. Wow! Bought four bottles of wine after the tasting, and some cheese. Our out of state visitors were impressed, the high point if their trip!
It's worth going off the beaten path to experience Trillium Creek Winery. Claude & Claudia are two of the most welcoming people on this planet...not to mention they make some fantastic wine. The tasting room is charming and Claude & Claudia will make sure you come away with a lot more knowledge about wine-making. Do yourself a favor and take a few hours out of your weekend to have a delightful experience.
Claude and Claudia were charming, informative and we enjoyed their wines and seeing their property, including the vineyards and wine cave. We ended up buying more bottles than usual, when visiting a winery for the first time! The tasting room is lovely and comfortable. We'd definitely consider a return visit the next time we're in the area.
My husband and I stopped by Trillium Creek on our way out to Harstine Island for the weekend. I had seen the sign for the winery along the route many times and we decided we'd stop in. When we pulled up to the little tasting room Claude walked out to greet us. He then called Claudia over to take us on a tour of the property. Claudia was very enthusiastic and was able to give us a great colorful history of the winery and the property. Their dog Champs even joined us on the tour. The last portion of the tour is in their large wine cellar where the wine barrels are kept, this is part of the tour you normally don't get at most wineries so it was a unique experience. Then we were returned to the tasting room to spend some time with Claude. With this sort of tasting you have to keep in mind that the pace of the tasting is slow but Claude likes it that way and in the end you will find you like it that way too. Claude goes in to great detail about each of his wines. The wine they make is "French" style which pleased my husband after going on a wine tasting in France and finding out you could drink wine all day and never feel hung over in the morning.2 hours later we purchased 3 bottles of wine and we now tell everyone about Trillium Creek.
My husband and I stumbled across Trillium Creek by accident early this fall and were so impressed and thrilled that we did! I had no idea there was such a wonderful spot to spend the day way out there! It was well worth the drive out to the Purdy peninsula!!! The owners (Claude and Claudia- how cute is that!!) greeted us with such warmth and openness, we instantly felt like we had known them for years! And they have the cutest dog!! The tasting room was just amazing, built by hand by them. I think it is a replica of one in France! We went on a guided tour of the vineyard with Claudia and their dog. I was surprised to hear they actually grew and crushed a lot of their own grapes! It was so picturesque and charming. I told Claudia that Id love to come and just have a picnic in the vineyard some day, she said we were welcome to any time! So sweet! After our extensive tour we were ready for some wine tasting. We went into the beautiful tasting room and began tasting. And tasting we did while Claude (who was born and raised in France) told funny stories and kept us laughing. What a great way to build core strength! They also have a huge selection of yummy specialty cheeses that we could not go home without! After all the wine tasting we went to the garden area which is surrounded by beautiful flowers and sat in lawn chairs and enjoyed the sunny fall day. We went home with a case of wine and have been thrilled with each bottle we open! We HIGHLY recommend Trillium Creek Winery for its awesome wine but also for the beautiful location and wonderful people there!! We will definitely be going back often!!Karren and Ric Hagaman
Year round winery with many flavors to choose from.
This place was completely 'off the beaten track' and we weren't sure what we were going to find....but we were slowly won over by the charming owners. There were 10 of us. They showed us around, shared some humour, and settled us outside to relax in their picnic area while they brought us very generous samples of wine....and cheese too! All of this was at no charge! We ended up tasting for about 45 mins and then we bought a bottle to enjoy while we decided on how to combine a case amongst the 10 of us. The weather was perfect, the owners were lovely, and the wine was quite good - especially Claude's 'free-run' bottles. Amazing!
We were camping at nearby Penrose Point state park and since this was on our way off the Key Peninsula we thought we would stop by for a quick 15 minute tasting. 2 and a half hours later we left with plenty of wine, cheese and a bucket of plants!Claude and Claudia run the place growing the grapes, making the wine, doing the tours and tastings and clearly love showing off their gardens and products. The tasting is free, Claude knows his stuff and the wine is all great. They also stock cheese from Estrella Family creamery and allowed us to taste a couple of them. Best wine tour of the weekend.
I enjoyed the winery with three of my friends while we were in the area for a girls' weekend. We enjoyed a 30-minute tour of the vineyard and the wine cellar, which was followed by a tasting of 6 of their wines. I greatly enjoyed all of the wines and took home 6 bottles of my favorites, which was easy on the wallet since all but one had a price tag of $15 or less. The wines are very dry, in the French style, and have a low sulfite rating. Jeffrey S explained the property and tasting room well. Claude and Claudia, the owners, are so welcoming and funny. Claude introduced himself and shook our hands as soon as we walked in. My friends and I thought that we would be at the winery an hour or two, but lo and behold, we finished up after 4 hours on the property (and that was because the winery was closing up for the day). Claude and Claudia took the time to explain the vineyard, the wine-making process and their wines, which I found delightful. I will be back.
We happened upon Trillium Creek Winery on a fluke. We didn't know what to expect but, we had the time to check it out. When we arrived we were greeted at the car by Claudia the charming wife of Claude the other half of this Mom and Pop winery.Claudia explained that she was first going to give us a tour of the vineyards and the processing facilities. The tour was very complete and interesting. We were then led to the tasting room where we were introduced to Claude. Claude a retired Airline pilot is a Frenchman and he loves french wines. He says Americans don't know what they're doing when it comes to producing the best tasting wines in the world. He had a number of wines on his tasting list and all were beyond excellent.I have visited many wineries in my time but this experience was the absolute best. The owners were cordial, charming and very friendly. Oh... and everything was complimentary.
