My wife and I stumbled upon this gem while riding the Chelais Western Bike Trail. Thy are currently trying to reopen the buildings and reestablish an active site. However, the sculpture gardens are open and they are wonderful--if somewhat overgrown. There are many, many large freestanding sculptures scattered over the grounds. Well worth a visit.

I ride my bike on the Western trail and this little park was always a delight to go to. I went recently and found that they had closed. Too bad, it was a fun break on the bike trail.

This is a pretty neat site with metal sculptures as big as a house. They are distributed all over the property. There is an art center that can accommodate school groups and all kinds of metal instruments. It is a great place for a picnic and connects with the Chehalis Western Trail. According to the website, which does not seem to be updated often, it is closed due to flooding. I have not heard of it reopening.

it the middle of a prairie. This is a sculpture garden with artwork from all over the world. The owner is a international artist. The stuff is beautiful and extraordinary. There is an annual party with an art show, dancers, singers..like I said ...in the middle of a prairie. This is the most extraordinary place. Please go.

This is a great place to take a troop or other group of kids for free. They accept donations to keep it running. Lots of cool stuff to explore.

I hope they reopen, because this is one of the amazing places in our city, tha other small cities don't have.

You may be able to access it, but you should know that it has been closed for about a year now. Nothing is being maintained.

Just looked like a bunch of mismatched garbage. make it sound like it's beautiful and there was nothing about it I found interesting.

Curious after reading about Monarch Sculpture Park, we decided to drive out before leaving Olympia for home. You just have to keep driving and eventually you'll find it, on the property behind a house along a paved bike path. Some of the sculptures were very interesting and we were looking forward to the maze. Unfortunately much of the park is overgrown and the maze looks like it was never really finished (or has fallen into disrepair). If you were biking and wanted a break this would be a neat stop. Since it was free I can't complain too much, but you should probably think twice about driving out just for this.

I had a bunch of fun here. The price was extremely reasonable and the sculptures were fantastic. It was fun for my whole family. Kids especially likes the prayer flag tree. A bit out of the way but worth it.

My friend since second grade and I chose Olympia as a meeting place because it's midway between our current residences. As we looked through trip advisor to plan our day, this unusual park sparked our interest. From the center of town, we drove about 15 miles into an increasingly rural area. The entry to the park looks like the driveway of a smallish country home. Around the side of the house, a gently sloping path leads down to several ACRES of outdoor art. Large, small, interpreted, uninterpreted, mainly metal, some glass, some "other." A modest guess would be that there are 50 or 60 pieces. In spring and summer, there is a leafy plant maze. (We saw the sticks.) As we strolled through the park on a soggy winter day, downed tree branches and the bit of ice in the stream from a recent snowstorm added their own artistic flare. Highly vocal roosters from the property next door serenaded us as we walked. The more we looked around, the broader our smiles grew. We were happy to contribute to the donations box before we drove away. TIPS: In winter, take care of personal needs before you go, and dress for the weather (including shoes) regardless of the season.

Heard about this place from friends who had visited while bicycling on the Chehalis Western Trail. This is one of those rare places that nobody really hears about. I guess it was in the news last year because the owner couldn't afford to care for it anymore. It's a pay what you can kind of place and sadly, it doesn't seem to be making it. Neighboring cities see the value of the place and have found funding to keep it open a bit longer. Meanwhile, I recommend you come check it out - while it's still available to the public that is. Great place to take kids! Lots of things to do - magnetic board to make art...sound garden... messages on trees... It's a very cool unique place!

This was a real surprise. Found it along the bike trail but here is of course vehicular access. really interesting range of sculpture pieces . They have a mentor ship program so you see non US artists work. Worth a visit is you're the museum art gallery type. The have soda machine and coffee shop during the summer in the winter neither.

So boredom through me out into the world today and I went to this hidden gem of a place. The setting was unusual but very appropriate. It was a fun and intertaning event for a Sunday or any day. Very pieceful and something for everyone to injoy...
