I having been coming to Alta for a number of years and it just keeps getting better. We meet up with up the same friends every year which includes some neighbors to the North. The staff there is very friendly and their food is actually pretty good. I come from around Seattle and it really isn't that far. Chelan is close too. The real fun part is the sense of community that happens after the sun goes down and the tales of the days golf are said. Everyone cooks, drinks, sings, and has a blast. Never had any run-ins with anyone. There is also a pool there too. I look forward to going every year.
We love this place. Quiet, challenging golf course. The hotel next door is down to earth, clean, and looks over the 9th hole. Some of the rooms have kitchens or there is an communal kitchen for use if you get a room with no kitchen. Also has big bbq out in front. It is a stay and play place and our guys play up to 54 holes a day and love it. The girls play cards, talk, sunbath and play in the pool. The back nine has breathtaking views. If you are not into golfing, Alta Lake beach is within walking distance. Chelan is a 20 minute drive, Brewster is 10 minutes, Pateros Bakery (the best) is 5 minutes.
This is a 'diamond in the rough' ... only 30 minute drive from downtown Chelan. This course has grown through the years and is now a fun challenging course - slope of 130. The front nine is wide open, while the back nine is a bit more challenging. The greens are multi-tiered, big and fast. Electric carts allow you to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the nearby mountains and the Columbia River valley. Great rates and easy to make tee times.
Challenging course, not crowded, knowledgeable staff. Take the short drive from Chelan & enjoy this Golf Course.
Well maintained and fun to play. Challenging and long enough to make you work for a good score. Friendly staff and not too hard on the pocket book. i have been going here for 25 years and every year it just gets better.
We have had nothing but problems trying to book with Alta Lake Resort . After numerous phone calls unanswered then finally reaching someone only to be told we can not have any of the rooms we requested more then a year ago at the time of our last visit . We are so disappointed and can't believe the poor treatment we received from the staff at Alta Lake Golf Resort. I will share this information with all my friends and family that also enjoy golf. So disappointed.
Played here recently on a rainy day in May. I didn't make a tee-time, just drove up and got right on the course. The front nine is pretty hilly. The greens are almost all heavily tiered and were very fast this time. The back nine is where the course shines to me. The "desert nine." The whole place has really good views and the course keeps you interested by forcing you to make tough decisions. It's not just long and straight, there's hills everywhere, washes, steep approaches to greens, etc. There are no sand traps either, which is really cool! The whole place has a great, relaxed feel to it, from the clubhouse onward.
We finally got on the reservation list! Reservations for this hidden little course and motel go quickly! When the reservation line opens early in the year, call then for your summer stays. The front nine holes are wooded; the back nine are in more of a desert setting. Very nice. Play some golf, then come back to the small pool for a cool down dip, then play some more golf! We stayed there once when the Seattle Police Dept. was occupying most of the rooms. Some of that group was playing 72 holes a day!!
