While we often like to paddle on this lake, we simply enjoyed the views of fog and light and the occasional view of mountains on the other side. There is an eagle nest at one end of the lake which can be viewed by canoe, which we didn't do this time.
Gravel road for part of the trip, but easily usable by automobile - beautiful scenery (close your eyes going by the clear-cut zones); brilliantly clear streams, rushing waterfalls, giant trees, lots of moss and ferns.
Quite breathtaking, at least what we could see..partially fogged in, raining. Part of the trail was being washed away by the lake waves, which may be a seasonal thing... We made it past and kept moving. You do pass by some private homes, but no worries....
The Lodge at Lake Quinault took me back in time 100 years. The quiet, calming beauty of an enormous lake of crystal clear water surrounded by old growth Washington spruces, pines and firs dripping with the cool fog mist and laden with moss. Every breath is clean and crisp and fresh. We enjoyed a bottle of Washington State Reisling on the Adirondack chairs placed in random couples across the expanse of lawn overlooking this beautiful place and watched the day turn to a night of stars.
The beauty is accessible and most photogenic. Can rent boats and swim in season. No night life if this is a must.
We loved our stay here as it was so relaxing and quiet! We stayed in the newer building with a lake view. The room was really large with a TV, WiFi, balcony etc. We would definitely go back for another visit. We also took an excellent tour of the surrounding area, most informative!
We saw Lake Quinault from the Lodge and walked around part of it. There is a whole loop but there is really nothing much exciting going on around the lake so we diverted and did the rainforest walk instead.
Travel around this beautiful lake (1 hr roundtrip by car, partially gravel road) and you can go through a rain forest similar to Hoh Rain Forest
This lake is so serene, so calm. The view out of our lodge room window and the lodge dining room was great. Every once in a while we'd see a canoe paddle by and everyone was wishing that they were in that canoe. Rain or shine, this is a must-see.
Not for large buses, RVs etc. It's a wonderful drive. We started on the North Loop and did the whole lake. Beautiful and fun
We very much enjoyed looking at the lake from our room and the restaurant at Lake Quinalt lodge, sitting in lawn chairs with our feet in the very cool lake was just the thing on a very hot day.
The lodge and surrounding area are lovely. We were going to stop to eat but missed the Roosevelt dining room between lunch and dinner service even though the website said we would be fine for lunch service. It was too long to just hang around so we wandered the grounds a bit and left. Next time I will call, not just check the website.
Its just a great view no matter where you are, Magic hour looks lovely. It was made for instagram. Even if you cannot stay the night, make a stop of it.
Small but serene swimming spot on the lake. Basic but a wonderful, rustic setting. There is a dock to swim to, and gravelly beach for resting near the water's edge.
We had a sunny day, did not have my bathing suit but wished I had had. The water was beautiful, the hiking around the lake was very pleasant and not crowded.
