Ritzville is a small wheat farming community located about an hour west of Spokane. There are no "fine dining" establishments in town - just a few simple unpretentious places that offer basic food at reasonable prices. This is the best of the downtown eating establishments. Go with the basics here, a hamburger and fries. For those of you under forty, you will have a chance to taste what a real hamburger should taste like. They take a big wad of meat and custom cook it just for you. Same thing with the French fries. You will notice a significant difference in the taste of these burgers. They actually have a beef taste missing in franchise hamburgers. After dinner take a walk around the Main Street. Most of the classic brick buildings are at least a hundred years old. Take time to admire the "retro charm" of one of the most authentic period streets in all of Washington State.
after almost 9 hours on the road my husband and I were looking for something not fast food so we tried this place. I got it to go so we could eat in our hotel- afterward our hotel room smelled like a grease bucket. we ordered cheese sticks(they were so burnt the cheese was hard), a philly cheesesteak (terribly sloppy. ended up eating most of it with a fork bc apparently they don't like to put their meat on the actual bread), a "ritz" grilled cheese. (interesting.. gouda, cheddar, jalapenos, tomato and bacon. and this sweet cream cheese that threw the entire flavor thing way off). paid about $30 bucks. Oh, the fries were good. and the staff was nice.
