Casual and fun. This is not only a fantastic place to golf, but it is also a bargain. Everyone I have ever met there, whether a fellow golfer or an employee, (or a combination of both) is always cheery and helpful. I should be there right this moment!

We came on a weekday, hot day in April. You walk up, put your money in an envelope, drop it in the rusted can and head to the first tee. There were a few people here and there on the course, including 2 guys mowing the entire time. One of the guys mowing stopped to talk to us. Later he mowed the entire 9th green while we waited on the tee. The place is beautiful and I really enjoy the layout of the course. It's hilly, some holes are narrow, some require you to carry a hazard. The shortest tees are ridiculously short if you're not comfortable hitting a long way. I did lose a couple balls that weren't far off target. There are a lot of rhododendrons and tall grass to lose your ball right around the greens, which are really tiny islands. There are muddy spots where your ball won't roll, bare spots on the green, generally thin grass on the greens. For greens so small, it's a wonder they aren't kept better. But the fun of the place is just taking a slow stroll around, smacking a golf ball and enjoying the day. Don't plan on making any amazing putts on perfectly rolling surfaces.

Small, cloistered, lots of rhodies and a former pet and large animal cemetery. I think cemeteries and golf courses should be combined for both uses. Seems logical to me.

Island Greens is a great par 3 course. Very challenging, beautiful and dog friendly. Really!! Where else can you take your dog golfing with you.

Love this place, so relaxing and beautiful. Great place to bring the nephews when they visit the island...fun for all ages. We were there on the hottest Sunday of the summer so far (80 degrees F) and we still had plenty of room to take our time. Gorgeous Whidbey scenery. I live in Clinton and should go more often!

This is a great place to practice with your irons. The price is right and the trust with a pay station hooked to a tree! A family oriented golf course.

I love the fact that you can go just about anytime and play, no fuss, no pretentious club house, just a relaxed way to play.Money is on the honor system, extra clubs are usually avail if need be, a small driving range which only takes token which can be bought at the yellow house. This is a small par 3 course, but very enjoyable.

My husband and son spent 2 Whidbey Island mornings at Island Greens - a par 3 that has some mini-golf elements to it (one tee is off the back of a pickup!). The fee for 9 holes is $9, but if you get there before 9 (I think) you get to do 18 for $9. They had a great time playing with their $2 real wood rental clubs. They have lefty clubs too. Just pick out a set from the choices under the tree. Bring correct change - it's on the honor system, so you put your money in the container and someone eventually comes out to make sure you paid. It isn't fancy - it's quirky and fun and cheap - so go with spirit of adventure and a full stomach (no place to eat here). There's a driving range too.
