Came out here in February while visiting Seattle and loved my morning at the lodge. I booked the first ride of the day, which served breakfast before going on the sleigh ride. The breakfast was Hearty, fresh and delicious!!!!! I especially loved the home baked bread!!!!Tyler the wrangler was very pleasant and accommodating and was super patient and didn't rush us at all..... He also helped to capture great photos along the ride. The warm cider was a welcomed finishing touch on a cold day.I highly recommend this family run, friendly place to anyone. Can't wait to return for the summer.
This was an amazing experience. Listening to the jingle of the sleigh bells as the horses pulled the sleigh was magical. The scenery was beautiful as we went through the woods and stopped for hot apple cider and a warm fire. The entire ride was about one hour and that was plenty given the low temperatures. Great time!!
We did a September trail ride.Lovely trails.Good-natured horses.Trail rides are available for varying lenghths of time.Beginners and people who haven't been riding for several years (like me) should probably stick to the 1 hour ride.Would definitely go there in the future !
My husband and I did the BBQ/horseback ride one night that we were in Leavenworth. The ride was a tad slow for someone who has some horse experience (walking the whole time- would have enjoyed at least some trotting), but the trail and horses were nice enough. The dinner was way more than we expected (we envisioned a buffet style out by the barn)- ate in the fine dining area of the lodge, and had more than enough to eat! Make sure you save room for the lava cake dessert!
This was our second visit to Mountain Springs Lodge while in Leavenworth for the Christmas lighting. The first time we also did the sleigh ride, which was wonderful followed by a delicious buffet at the lodge. Six years later we returned with the same friends and the request from all was for another delicious dinner at Mountain Springs Lodge. Well, it was every bit as delicious as the first visit. We had excellent service, a snow-covered landscape to enjoy while inside by the large fireplace. The food was amazing AGAIN! We plan to come next year for the Octoberfest and dinner at Mt. Springs will definitely be on the agenda!
A great fun family thing for all ages to do in the winter. Afterwards eat at the Mountain Springs Lodge too.
I talked my husband into taking my daughter to Mountain Springs Lodge for a beginners tour on horseback. My daughter had been horseback riding before, but my husband had not and was very leery. He loved it! He said the guide was great, the horses were great and they just plain had a great time. Really reasonable rates too. They are already planning the next trip.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, has all the amenities you need to enjoy Your stay. Excellent value for money!
A breathtaking view from all angles! Our driver was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We finished off the ride with homemade apple cider. A little sweet but delectable all the same!
We did the breakfast sleigh ride and all of us really enjoyed it. I was there with my parents and 17 year old son and 5 year old daughter. We signed up for it for my daughter, but everyone had a wonderful time. Beautiful scenery and friendly staff! This is a Must Do in the winter!
Fortunately, they provided blankets because it was cold. We went on the other sleigh ride near Leavenworth too. This one was quite a ways from Leavenworth and to get there we went on a nice mountain drive and there was a very beautiful lodge once we got there. There were long time periods between sleigh rides, but at least there was a nice lodge to hang out in. We took the twilight ride and it was a nice view. I wanted to go on one of the snowmobile tours too, but those were closed. We had dinner after the sleigh ride, which hit the spot because we were hungry and did not want to have to drive back to town.
I picked up the private sleigh ride (4pm) with dinner package as we both enjoy more quiet time than socializing with others and this was just perfect. They have both general (14 people) or private /group versions and there were 2 groups for the public along with us and so we left prior to them to enjoy the quiet trail. Our guide shared the history of the lodge and area as Ben led our small sled around the property and apologized that we couldn't go into the tree line as there had been multiple days of snowfall that had downed several trees and even more tipping or on the verge of, so we stayed out in the open and did a few extra laps around to make up for it. Was a perfect evening for it with no wind and right around 30 degrees. We moved throughout the different lodges they have and came to a barn that had a fire going and some really good hot cider to sip on as the other 2 groups came in. Once they were all around the fire, we headed back out for a short trip back to the lodge.Totally understand the safety factor about not going into the treeline and dont hold anything against Mt Spring, but that would have made the sleigh ride part a true 5 star. The dinner overall was fantastic in their lodge, which is centered around a large propane powered fireplace. Fresh baked roles and a salad with homemade dressing started us off. The main entree was both salmon and steak. I dont eat red meat so was offered a double serving of salmon which was great of them to do. The 1st piece was fantastic, again with a homemade sauce on it that really brought out the flavor. About 1/2 way into my 2nd piece, I noticed it wasnt cooked at all and the same time my wife noticed the same with hers. They gladly took it back and cooked it, but it took away from the total experience which is why I give the dinner portion a 4.As we noticed the salmon, the lights flickered and then went off. Trees had been coming down on the 1 way into the lodge and one apparently knocked over a powerline. The generator came on within 5 minutes and the fireplace is on propane so we had heat. We were stuck there for almost 3 hours and in the process Mt Springs looked into shuttling us down to the main rode and paying for a taxi ride back to Leavenworth as well as the taxi ride back the next morning to get our vehicle, but the company said they wouldnt be able to get there until 10 (this was at 8), at 9 it was cleared and we headed out. Our Inn set and paid the costs, so our only bill was for the 2 drinks we had, which they ended up not charging us for due to the inconvenience.Overall, fantastic even with the safety issues, the undercooked salmon and the power outage; the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was great and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others.
