barefoot bubba's kayak rentals and shop

neat shop with all kinda surf and touristy things. a lil bit of everything in there. and you can rent kayaks too so you can play in the marshlands. overall a cool place to visit when your in the area.

This was the closest shop to Harbor Island for us. It had everything you could need for a fun beach vacation. From ankle bracelets to boogie boards it houses fun for kids of all ages, yes it is pricey ... however better to buy it here than drive 30 minutes into a town where you could find it a bit cheaper. If you are close to this place, you are most likely renting a house on Harbor or Fripp so why complain about the prices?

Don't bother stopping. Everything is overpriced (if you can find a tag). If not. the ask one of the rude sales people (if they are not on the phone). If they are, they won't even look at you orconsider getting off. Music (inside and out) is blasted. You can't talk to the people you are with!

Bubbas is one of the best places to stop by on your way to the beach! I have been coming here with the kids for about 11 years now and I couldn't be happier! The free ice cream is great for the kids and it's great for a cool down after the beach! The owner is always ready to give a helping hand and I always see I smile on his face. Plus the t-shirts are so cute! I get two every year for myself and the kids get one too! Definitely a fun place to stop!

Unless you are renting Kayak's, I wouldn't recommend stopping even if they advertise free ice cream. They know they are the only souvenir store around and the prices are ridiculous. Huge ripoff and waste of time.

I always stop here and get a shirt (or 5!) My niece & nephew love the tie-dye shirts I get them each year. Cool stickers, knick-knacks, and other beach needs!

Gotta stop here if only to meet the cute and helpful new employee Nate who delivers the bikes and canoes!! Also love tony the owner .

Driving by, we decided to stop in to rent a canoe. They charged $60 for a full day rental even though we only wanted the canoe for 1/2 day. It was noon when we stopped in. The canoe was in good shape but they only provided one canoe paddle. The other was half of a kayak paddle without the top plastic handle for support just rough metal pipe. Unacceptable for the rates charged. They had no map to provide and were fairly lackadaisical about giving out any instructions."oh yeah, we'll drop you off and pick you up"...but it was up to us to figure out how to connect with them to summons them back for us. We called several times to two tel numbers but no one answered either so we were lucky enough in connecting with two kayakers at the same lagoon who went back to the store in their car while we watched the equipment.Barefoot Bubba's strapped the canoe with some regular rope to the top of a privately owned vehicle (not company owned) and drove on the main rode to the launching site. We canoed for a couple of hours. I would recommend packing a picnic lunch as lots of places to stop and rest while enjoying your lunch. Bring mosquito repellent as I imagine the mosquitos are fierce in the summer.I strongly encourage you to ride to/from the launch site in your own vehicle even though you'll have to pay the entry fee to the park. If I were to rent again, I would look elsewhere as felt that the young owner was all about "making a quick buck" for the least amount of effort and investment required. We would have argued for a partial refund when we returned but we were too relaxed to interrupt our vacation with this aggravation. However, staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Go to Wal Mart instead. Out dated, over priced, faded merchandise.$10 for a 5 piece sand toy set that was completely faded. Found a 13 piece set for $9 elsewhere. Old Crocs, dated clothes, etc.

I've been going to Fripp Island since I was about 8 and there hasnt ever been a time I didnt want to stop at Barefoot Bubbas for some free ice cream and of course a cool new t-shirt!! There is such a wide variety to choose from and the people that greet you are always so friendly and helpful. Kayaks and bike rentals are also available if you wanted to explore the lagoons or just go for a ride. One of the things I love most is that they always are changing things around to better serve their customers for an enjoyable experience. DONT FORGET TO STOP AT BUBBAS!! youre missing out if you dont!!

My sorority sisters and I rented a house on Fripp Island for Spring break. We stopped at Barefoot Bubba's to rent kayaks for the day, (which they delivered for free!) and we ended up buying bathing suits and these beautiful, handmade wrap dresses that the girl.showed us 5 different ways to tie it. We had so much fun and a really great experience here thanks to the staff and owner who was super nice, I would recommend this tourist shop and will definitely be stopping back over the summer. From just stopping to rent kayaks we ended up getting t-shirts for our friends and some unique friendship shell bracelets that I will cherish forever!

I stayed on harbor island and rented a kayak and bought quite a few t shirts, along with many other things.. It was hard not to buy something with all the friendly staff! I defiantly cannot wait until my next visit with you guys!

Stopped in with my 'fun havin sisters' to look for souvenirs and had a blast! Not only came away with some great souvenirs but met some pretty great people (customer service) and shared some laughs! You guys made my vacation even better!:)

My sisters and I were on a trip from Oklahoma and stopped in. Was greeted with smiles and laughter. I would recommend this place for sure.

Everyone was friendly and there were lots of stuff to choose from.. Great for souvenirs. Would come back.
