Alexandria really knows her stuff and pleasant too!! Thank you, I'm sure we will be back!6 shots for 4.00, and keep the shotglass!Friendly folks who not only sale but knowledgable not only about three products but the history
My husband & I stopped in to check it out & enjoyed the tasting. It's very relaxed & casual. The people seem knowledgable about the products & are very nice. You get 6 samples for $4 and keep the shot glasses! We also met nice friendly people at the bar doing the tasting at the same time. Fun little activity to do while walking around main street.
Right on Main Street, this distillery has been in business for 3 years -- but you would think it's generations from the comfortable ambiance and splendid variety. Their motto is "World's Best Moonshine," and we found it accurate. Taste 6 of their flavors for $4, and you get to keep the shot glass. I particularly enjoyed the Butterscotch, my husband called the Stump Water "absolutely incredible." The retail shop offers soaps, jellies and chutneys infused with moonshine. They've rightly won an array of awards.
We stopped in this place on a whim. Glad we did. We tried the sampler and got shot glasses with it. We were able to sample 6 different types of spirits and got the shotglass for $4. Pretty good and def worth it for me. Customer service was amazing. Every question we had, she came back with a very knowledge based answer. I love visiting places like this for the experience and this experience led me to a new bourbon.
I am glad we stepped in this little place on Main St. It is truly a Dark corner. Once inside you are greeted by friendly people. In the back is the still where the moonshine is made and lining the walls are barrels and bottles of moonshine you can buy or taste, right there at the attractive bar setup. They give you a card to mark off six flavors that you would like to try and then pour them one by one in a shot glass for you to taste. They tell you about each one and give you a quick lesson about whiskey, bourbon and moonshine. You are actually drinking real moonshine whiskey with real alcohol so if that is a problem for you don't do this. But if you want to have a little fun and throw down a couple of ounces of moonshine, then step in and give it a try! Kinda like wine tasting without the snobbery!
I could smell the mash the second I walked in. The booze is quite good; smoother than I expected. The presentation/tasting room is comfy, but small. Definitely worth a stop in. There are traditional spirits and flavored for all crowds that choose to imbibe.
Stopped in here and did a tasting. The flavored liquors were my favorite. Too bad they didn't come in smaller bottles. Glad we found the place!
The moonshine and other drinks are outstanding to sample. A must every time we go to Greenville. They are knowledgeable in what they do and they try very hard to make you feel comfortable.
We stopped in for a tasting and really loved the place. First of all, $4 to sample 6 offerings is unbelievable and then you get to keep the shot glass. The liquors we tried were all very smooth. Along the way, we were given suggestions on mixology involving moonshine. We bought a bottle and are hoping to be a big hit at an upcoming tailgate party.
For my husbands birthday we walked around downtown Greenville, and enjoyed visiting the distillery. Moonshine making was done for the day, so if you want to see that in action visit earlier in the day (they close at 6). We paid $4 to try 6 different moonshines and we got to keep our shot glass :) There are shirts and things for sale as well as moonshine soaps and actual moonshine that they make in the distillery. We enjoyed our short visit.
We didn't expect such a fundamental whiskey knowledge when we first entered the shop: soap, t-shirts, glasses in the front store. Nice, but not what we came for. BUT: 3 steps further entering the 2nd part of the shop it changed into a real distillery. Oak barrels, smell of mash, a bearded distiller and stuff who knew what she was talking about. Unfortunately I forgot her name, but that lady could answer EVERY of our questions into the detail! AND: the tasting of 6 different "schnaps" was great. For just $4 plus you get the glass. We went home with Moonshine, bourbon and honeysuckle Whiskey. Greenville is definitely a Mekka for foodies!
Went in with a girlfriend of mine on a spur of a moment and I am so glad we did! They were so informative and the lady at the counter was very personable. They have some of the best smoothest alcohol I have had. They have a new customer in me !
We moved to South Carolina and when family and friends starting coming in to visit we decided to take them downtown Greenville and the first place we took them was Dark Corner Distillery. So far no one has been disappointed and everyone has had a good time. I highly recommend not missing this attraction. They explain how the moonshine is made and you get samples at a good price and the staff is very friendly and informative, the others doing the tasting are fun to be with and everyone shares which one they liked the best. We will be going back again due to more people coming in. Again a Must GO TO !!!!!!
Visited Dark Corner during a recent business trip to Greenville. Great experience, great service & excellent products!! Try the reasonably priced tasting flight to get a good feel for the products and clear explanations of each. Products were very smooth and the taste variety provides a flavor for all to enjoy. Drink recipe cards were also helpful when I returned home!
This place is awesome! It is an actual distillery in a small shop in the heart of downtown. You can watch the alcohol being distilled while sampling booze at the small tasting area. There is moonshine (which has won 15 medals!), gin, bourbon, and absinthe. It's just a cool place to check out and buy some hand crafted (award winning) booze.
