My husband and I had our Valentines Day dinner there last night. The food was great and the service was exceptional. They also had live music during, and the girl playing, Mandy Shay, was just phenomenal. Will definitely dine here again. Perfect night of dining and entertainment.
I went there three times. 3 times and you r out! The 1st time I went with 2 dietitians from the hospital. 2 of us ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich. It was bad and we complained. They then told us it had cranberry horseradish sauce on. We could not eat it. No discount or any responce from the restaurant. The last time was last summer. There was any alarm going off every 10 minutes. We each ordered a sandwich with a certain sandwich. After the alarm went off for the 5th time, we got our meal. All with French fries. Oh, they did not makethat salad that we ordered that day. I have a brain injury and the noise from the alarm bothered me a lot. None of our group of 8 will go back again.
We have been here many times to see the King Tut exhibit or look at the art. The gift shop and coffee house are greta but the restaurant is not worth the price. Our waitress was extremely bad and the food was nothing special
Since your review, the Goss Opera House now has an entirely new team and we would love the opportunity to provide you the fantastic service you deserve. We'd encourage you to visit us again!
Soup of the day chili. I've wanted to clone Hormel chili. Either they have cloned it or they served me out of a can. I'd guess the later. Reuben so dry. Where's the juice. Meet is sticking to my teeth. Did they forget the sauce. Oh by the way the bread is crunchy tearing up the roof of my mouth. For three days after the meal I have meat shreds hanging from my mouth cavities. Don't forget your coat, the place has no heat or very little. I expect that is to compensate for the lack of customers, they can't pay the bills.
Check out the building that offers everything from a coffee house to great dining. The old opera house still stands and they even have an art exhibit.
Seems like things are kinda' in disarray. I have been there many times - the opera house itself is fantastic - but the visiting experience not so great.
I liked how they are renovating this cool old building. I also appreciated the exhibits they offered such as King Tut and the dinosaur exhibit. I took my students on a field trip to thse places. They also have a neat wildlife display on the main floor. Great gift shop.
The Goss Opera House is a huge renovated facility. They have stayed true to the original structure with the original hardwood & exposed brick - so beautiful, and full of so much character. There are several spaces within the building. The Goss Opera House is home to fine dining, cafe, live music, coffee house, 3 floors of gallery space, and the Opera House itself, which I presume hosts plays or musical events from time to time. It is also my understanding that the gallery space is sometimes switched out to host traveling exhibits. A must see if you are in downtown Watertown SD.
