Wine and Design has a franchise in Clayton now, so if you love the concept of painting while drinking a little wine with some friends, this is a place for you.The concept is simple, you look on the calendar and find a painting you'd like to paint. Then you arrive and they have everything ready for you from the canvas to the paints to the brushes to even an apron to protect your clothing. An artist will then talk you through the painting demonstrating what to do.They also offer open studios where you can pick a painting that might not make it on the calendar or if everyone in your group wants to paint something different, than this is the way to go. You will either have an example painting to look at or an example printed out on paper. Some of the canvas will be traced out as well to provide guidance. The paint colors needed are provided and an artist will get you started and help throughout. Although this is not the step by step instruction of the regular class.The studio has tables that seat four and there is an area for you to put any food or beverages you bring along.It is a little tricky to find as it is a new building so give yourself some extra time to find the Harris Teeter and CVS shopping area. It is just a short drive from Raleigh but is really convenient to those in Knightdale, Garner, Southeast Raleigh and Zebulon I had a nice time relaxing for a few hours so I will go back again.
