Cedar Creek Gallery was recommended by a friend as a must see. After visiting this gallery, I can see why as this place is a real gem. It opened in 1968. If you want to get a unique product made in the USA, then this is a great place. It is a large shop with a variety of handcrafted artisan items from pottery, to glass to wood to candles to jewelry. All the items are so beautiful and the workmanship top notch. If you want to see great items in a relaxing setting then this is a gallery I can highly recommend.
Great palce to find just want you want for home or a gift. Have great festivals where you can watch glass blowers at work. Love to go just to browse.
Went to Cedar Creek Galley & Pottery many years before we moved to Creedmoor and found it to be a relaxing, stress-free, casual fun place to spend time. If you enjoy seeing hundreds of hand-made pottery, blown glass sculptures, beautiful hand-crafted unusual wood, and gorgeous silver jewelry...this is the place for you!We prefer to visit the Gallery each spring, so we can also enjoy walking around the grounds. There are many flowering trees, shrubs, bushes and flowers outside and they are labeled so you learn something too....like a nature walk! It's the perfect place to find a unique, high quality, hand-crafted gift for someone special but keep in mind...these items are not cheap by any means, but you get what you paid for! The place is large but cozy inside, one level and fun to walk inside the building which has a most interesting floor plan. In the center of the building is a glassed-in area with a "forest" of living bamboo growing in it! We've never been in a place this and are very proud to say that it's now in the town we will spendthe rest of our lives in and minutes from our front door! Perfect way to spend a pretty spring afternoon when you want to get out but are tired of the hustle and bustle of the malls....but don't forget your camera if you are a nature bluff! January 2015
About 20 years ago I happened upon Cedar Creek (I have no idea how I even found it!). When visiting family in Raleigh recently, it just came back into my head and lo and behold I found it on the Web. It is in Creedmoor (about 30 minutes north of the Triangle area). What a fantastic place - local and American artisans are featured and it was better than I remembered. Pottery, metalwork, wood, jewelry, textiles, furniture. Worth the drive and now I am on the mailing list!
Just bring your list and you'll find the right present....it's so much easier than the other way. They also have a gift wrapping station which is fun. Be patient in finding it....it truly is worth the effort!
I was hesitant to make the drive out to Cedar Creek, but it is SO worth the trip. The artists they showcase are brilliant! I got married on my parents' 28th wedding aniversary and wanted to display a floral arrangement at the reception in their honor in a vase they could take home and display post wedding. I found a gorgeous vase/pitcher that was perfect! The staff is friendly, and if you find an artist you like, you can request to be put on a contact list for when they bring in new work.I need to go back!!
My first visit to Cedar Creek Gallery and it won't be my last! What a wonderful selection - beautifully displayed. There is definitely something for everyone - from lovely jewelry and pottery to scarves, handbags, wood items. I was only sorry I didn't go in the summer as the gardens must be magnificent then. This is a great place to take visitors, to just wander around, to pick up a gift (for someone else or yourself). We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
This place has all sorts of art from around NC. It's a large space, and the store itself is visually appealing and uniquely laid out. The prices are not cheap - but they are within range of most collectors. After having been all over NC, this is the most comprehensive and impressive art galleries around. Highly recommend an hour browsing.
This is a must share for my out of town visitors. Small permanent pottery museum and ever-changing art work for sale. Everything is unique with varying price points and the setting is beautiful. Twice a year they have special weekends when you can watch the artisits working and ask questions--very patient with children, though with all the breakables you might want to avoid bringing kids at the grabbing stage. Check their web-site for current special exhibits. Glass, textiles, wood, metal and pottery. Always a surprise and gifts for a variety of tastes. They even make custom place settings. Easy access off I-85 and well worth the trip from Durham or Chapel Hill.
