I saw lots of finished peices as well as in progress pieces. They explained what they were doing as they did it. I recommend it!
In the days of Etsy, these guys still set themselves apart! We stopped by during one of their weekend demonstrations and both my husband and I were enthralled! These guys explain every step of the process and are eager to explain their business model and answer any questions you have along the way. We were so intrigued by their craft! They're incredibly talented! Anyone from 4 - 100 years old should be interested in stopping by.
Billy was very gracious and knowledgeable. I'd watched the studio be built, and was excited that I was finally able to stop in to see what's inside. Well worth the wait - and the visit! My parents, who were visiting from Ohio, were delighted as well.
Watching the guys work was amazing and all of there pieces are at a great price.I can't wait to go back!
An awesome impromptu visit, an individual class will be scheduled shortly. Fits the Asheville scene nicely. Thanks again
While I'm not sure I would consider this a "must see" in a city like Asheville where there are so many interesting attractions, I would say if you're strolling around downtown, you might want to stop in and watch the amazing process of glass blowing. The guys are very personable and talented and the items available for purchase are beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts or souvenirs.
This place was a great find on a recent visit. Watching these artisans work and seeing some of their other pieces on display was a real treat.
I am happy to see a working glass studio open in downtown Asheville. I've been mesmerized by glassblowing ever since taking an elective course in college back when Carter was president. On my first visit I only had a few minutes. But I was impressed by what I saw while I was there. First there was an artisan at work giving the small audience an articulate description and explanation of the work he was doing. Second, the showroom is bright and airy and the functional glass pieces are displayed like art or museum pieces. I have been looking for a locally made water pitcher similar to the Blenko design that is light weight and easy to handle. I didn't find that but I did see beautiful wine glasses, whiskey glasses and beer mugs. Good luck with your business and I will visit often
Very friendly. Gave me a mini tour and I watched them actually working and blowing glass. At the time of my visit at the end of Feb., they had only been open a month and apparently doing very well. The front of the warehouse is a display area of their work. High quality, artful glass that I would be proud to display anywhere in my home. When I return to Asheville I will be sure to pay them a visit and I can't wait to see what they've done with the place.
I met these guys briefly last summer when they were preparing to build out their space. The finished shop is great!! We were very impressed with the studio and the gorgeous pieces they had for sale. Really nice and very talented guys!
These guys get it. My wife and I made sure we stopped by the shop on our way out of town and we were happy we did. Luckily, they were making a bowl while we were there and they explained the whole process while doing it. Years of honing their craft shows through in all of their work. We were thoroughly impressed with everything. Their shop, their work, and their love of glass making is a must see.
We couldn't be more impressed with the company, location, owners and the gorgeous pieces!!!! We recommend this all day long...if you find yourself in Asheville and lookin to do something really neat you must check them out....even if you have 30 mins just stop by....you will find you self wanting to hangout.
My wife used to be an apprentice for a glass blower and when she saw the shop she was so excited. We went in and we never expected to watch them but somehow they were able to tell exactly what they were doing while still working at a frantic pace. They seemed at perfect ease with it, almost like a second nature. These guys are the best I've ever seen and their prices are lower then I expected. Perfect place to go while out for a romantic day in Asheville.
The owners of the studio are passionate about what they do and are very eager to share their enthusiasm. Beautiful glass pieces for sale, plus live demonstrations throughout the day. We sat and watched for over an hour. A great place to support local artists!
I was completely in awe. Having been a machinist and welder, I have always been interested in the art of glass. Watching two young guys, with such talent, work such a dynamic medium was incredible. Then learning they had welded the framework, and cast the ceramic/concrete, to build every piece of equipment in the shop... They explained every step as they worked, as well as answered all of my technical questions without missing a beat.Truly awesome
