the pinhook

I had heard about The Pinhook but never went until a friend suggested it. We went a Saturday night and there was a drag show. It wasn't the first drag show I have been to but it was one of the best and lots of fun. The place isn't hug but that just makes for a better party atmosphere. Also of note was that the bathroom was actually clean! And for a clean freak like myself that means a lot. If you are looking for a cool upbeat local spot to hang without a lot of drama this is a good place to try.

We visited the Pinhook as part of the Art of Cool jazz fest. Had heard this was a great place to see live music. It's small and intimate for live shows. The place itself is a non-pretentious dive bar. LOVE this type of place. Real people, real drinks, real music without any irony. Love the local beer selection and the cheap beer list is awesome. No food but there was a coffee/dessert food truck parked outside if you needed a sugar fix.

Really awesome small venue for musical acts. Typical up close and personal layout, with a great staff as well. Really liked the beer selection and the bar options as well. Wish more DC places were similar.
