The hill at Mill Race Park is a great place to take the kids sledding on a snow day! Make sure to dress warm and have fun!
Worth a visit if you're in town. Great playgrounds and trails. The bathrooms always seemed to be locked though. We've had to use the tree toilet for our little people on several occasions.
Beautiful setting near the lake and covered bridge. This park has many great attributes. Follow the people trails and take a walk along the river or fish it and the park ponds. Check out the view from the top of the tower. Wonderful local concert venue. In the winter the amphitheater's hillside makes a wonderful sled run for smaller kids. Many different play and picnic areas available.
We go to Mill Race park quiet often. Nice play ground for the kids. Also a basketball court near the covered bridge. On the big hill a few times in the summer they have concerts, you can fish in the round lake or in the river. Nice lookout tower you can climb stairs to see Columbus. Several nice places to eat nearby.
We were downtown shopping and eating and wanted to see the Christmas decorations in the park. It was alright ..... we really were expecting more.
Beautiful multi purpose park: on the river, lovley ponds, on the bike/walk trail, close to food and beverage.
Love the bridge, just wish there was a safer way to access it on foot. I like to look and walk through the bridges but traffic was going to fast through the bridge for me to feel comfortable walking through it.
On a trip with the car club, had to drive thru and get photos of the covered bridge. You don't see them everyday.
Great park for young children. Nice playground area away from traffic. Pretty pond with fishing available and a few other areas to fish at. Great park to go on a stroll or a short hike. Nicely taken care of and restrooms through out the park.
They have some really nice places to go for a walk, with great views, a nice covered bridge, pet friendly our dog loved it. nice place to have a little lunch and wind down.
Easy to find. diverse area, picnic benches, walking trails, covered bridge. We were there mid day to walk our dogs. Nice to see it had not changed since we were here four or more years ago.
We've been to Columbus several times, but this was our first visit to Mill Race Park. We stopped about 8:30 after dinner downtown. We enjoyed the winding drive from the north entrance, across the covered bridge, to the lagoon. There were several small groups of walkers, bikers, and a few "plein air" painters enjoying the serene sunset scene. A few people were fishing in White River. The area we visited was well-maintained and we enjoyed the sculpture at the Fifth Street entrance, part of Columbus' extensive public art installations.
This park needs to be explored on foot. People's trail runs through the park. You can get to many parts of the town from this park. It is a nice quiet place.
Not the biggest of parks but nice and family friendly. The covered bridge during Christmas time is always lovely. Needs some updating but is overall up kept and in good shape.
Mill Race Park is a good place for jogging on afternoons after a work day. There are some tracks with natural shadow where the summer's sun should not affect your exercise. After sunset, the park is totally different, and I really recommend a visit with your flashlight on hands (after 8-9pm) otherwise you should not be able to walk on some tracks.
