Liked everything about Coxhall Gardens, i.e biking, walking, relaxing, fishing, etc. premises are extremely well kept and attractive.
Lots of room for a walk and plenty of open space. Really an underused area as we've never encountered more than a handful of people here. Unique playground that younger kids will love. We usually avoid hot, sunny days for dog walks as most of it is open with little shade.
This is one of the most peaceful parks I've ever been too. I like to take a blanket, book, hat, water and healthy snacks, find a comfortable spot to lay my blanket, and enjoy a beautiful few hours reading and relaxing. What I like about the park is that cars and bikes are far enough away from the grassy area that it truly can be quiet! beautiful place.
Our first time visiting and it did not disappoint. Beautiful grounds to stroll and enjoy a lazy afternoon. My camera was very busy photographing gorgeous blossoms and butterflies! I love the clock towers and they were playing their lyrical clinging bells throughout our visit. Lovely!!!
Coxhall Garden's is beautiful. We like exploring the Children's garden. My kids love using their imagination by selling us chocolate and marshmallows in the candy store and making their daddy coffee in the coffee house. There is a neat path for the kids to follow and say their ABC's. The flowers are beautiful. There is a tunnel slide in a side of a hill and other tunnel's for the kids to run under or you can run over them. The bell towers are nice to listen to. The water and fountain are gorgeous.
Coxhall was created from land donated to Hamilton county by a well-known Indiana entrepreneur and his wife,Jesse and Beulah Cox, who wanted their "oasis" to survive the urban sprawl of housing development upon housing development.125-acre park includes the elegant Centerpiece, twin 90-feet bell towers, a recreation lake, and Children's Garden, which features "village stores, echo walls, peek-a-boo hills, sun dial, and Tiki huts". Campbell Crossing, which is connected to the Centerpiece and surrounded by water on two sides, serves as a serene location for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. A focal point of the park, however, is what has come to be known as the centerpiece, a terraced mini-amphitheater with a belvedere that is surrounded by a multi-level fountain. A decent-sized pond, paved walking path, a separate children's mini-park with climbing apparatus. We came here to watch the Fireworks on the Fourth of July. It was a beautiful 360 view of all the fireworks going off in the neighboring counties. We will definitely be doing this again next year.
