seven peaks water park

We bought a season pass to this waterpark.....however, if you want a tube, you need to pay. We got a 3 person, 2 person and single tube and it was $27, but we did get $6 back when we returned them. On the water slides I believe there should have been more lifeguards. Kids were just going one after the other, kind of dangerous. The food was ok, but waited way too long. We ordered 3 hotdogs with fries and waited 15 minutes. The actual slides were fun. Lines were not too long. The little kid section was really nice. Most slides DO NOT need a tube but the 2 most popular ones do.

If you've read other reviews, you know what to expect when you get there. If you go with the right expectations, you won't feel let down. No, it isn't as large as Deep River, but, it's just right for school aged children because you can keep track of them easily. There was no lazy river this year, but, they claim there will be in 2015. The yellow/black slide was closed all season. The rest of the attractions were open for most of the season. (We visit many times a week weather permitting). They have a toilet ride, sling shot, 3 body slides, a dunes slide, and a wave pool. They also have kiddy areas. The employees have always been nice to us. The park is generally clean and maintained. They have outdoor showers available as well as a restroom and changing room area. Parking is across the street in a gravel parking lot. Be careful crossing the street! Parking costs $5. Tubes cost $5.

We went today hoping this would be as much fun as deep river but on a smaller scale. WRONG! I have a toddler who is turning 3 so she is only able to do so much and with the discount tickets we figured why not give it a try. We stayed a little over two hours and left. I should state we drove 55mins to come to the park so we left unhappy! The toddler area has three small slides which are perfect for my to be 3 year old and she literally loved them but there was atleast 75 kids running jumping and crawling all over these slides and only one teenage life guard who was doing all he could to keep kids from running (he was a young teenage boy) with that being said that left 75 kids pushing, cutting, running, going down the slides 4 or more at a time, backwards on there Belly sideways, bashing into and knocking over smaller children. There are rules against such behavior but not all parents in force them and with an overwhelmed life guard these were very over looked and it was a safety concern! I walked to the life guard station spoke to leader explained the young man needed some help he said he would handle it. We go back to the toddler area and a large man literally put his foot threw the water grate located at the bottom of the slide, it's a large metal filter and his leg went threw it. This being at the bottom of a toddler slide I said something to a lifeguard. In fact I did this twice! At the end of two hours nothing was done so I hunted down the supervisor again and he immediately called maitnance walked over saw the issue and shut the slide down!! Now if this was broken so badly that it has to be shut down immediately why did it take me hunting someone down! Shouldn't the life guards have handled this right away!? So upon leaving I asked for information to contact someone in charge to let them know what I witnessed and a teenage boy started laughing In my face smugly saying well maybe I'm the supervisor maybe I'm not hahaha, completely ridiculous I will never return!

This is not a big, fancy water park. It is fairly small but very clean. I feel very comfortable letting my 11 & 14 yr old kids play without intense supervision. I also am more comfortable with the people I have dealt with here vs large water parks. In off hours, I can pick a central location and see my kids in all but the farthest slides. I know this park isn't always popular with reviewers, but I like it for what it is. I do not feel the need to always have "over the top" entertainment. My kids enjoy it also.

Our family went there three times during the reopening in summer 2013. The new owners have added fresh paint, a more varied snack menu, and kept all the waterslides. But three disappointments were (1) the wave pool, promised throughout the summer, never opened as maintenance/repair problems persisted;, (2) once free single and double tubes now cost $4 and $8; and (3) three popular slides never opened. Still after being closed in 2012, it is good to have this water park back in action. The price is reasonable compared to its major competitor, Deep River Water Park in Merrillville, but then it should charge less, as it has fewer rides. It will be a better bargain in 2014, when the wave pool churns into action and the closed slides are ready to send customers down its curving tubes into the splash pool.

There are some neat slides but without the wave pool open, there just isn't enough for a full day. We have tweens and went for about 2 hours, they enjoyed it but it's not a show stopper. The tube slides were cool but the lines were very long even though the park was not horribly busy. Probably because that was the most exciting. If we had young children, the tiny tot area looked fun. A lot of the park looks to still be under construction and there just needs to be some updates. There is a very rundown section that is blocked off, not sure what is happening there? I would think someone could mow and let people sit in the picnic type shelters. Seemed like there was no consideration for parents other than a regular pool lawn chair. Luckily, we enjoy sun and it was not a sweltering day. The bathrooms were small and right at the entrance which seemed inconvienent to not have others by the food or other side of the park.It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great, we will just go to the beach and swim at the hotel if we want a pool.

This is a small water park near the shores of Lake Michigan and close to the Indiana Dunes. It is the only public pool in Porter County, so if you're visiting the Dunes and want to cool off somewhere besides the lake, this would be the place. The Seven Peaks water park was recently purchased and renovated from a dilapidated state, and given that, it is nice. However, as of mid-July, the much-anticipated Wave Pool is still not open, so the only way for bigger kids and adults to cool down is by going on the water slides. There is one set of 4 open-air gentle body slides, one set of super-tall fast body slides, and two tube rides. One tube ride is a "slingshot", the other a "toilet bowl". Both tube rides have water flow issues and riders of all sizes frequently get stuck and need staff assistance, so much so that after two weeks of operation, a lifeguard is stationed in the toilet bowl to push riders on through. So much for the thrill. My 75-pound child, riding solo, got stuck on the slingshot, needing assistance to climb out. Two tube slides are not open this season, and there is NOT a lazy river at this time.There is a really, really nice kiddie area with a shallow zero-entry play pool and some small,, gentle water slides. If you have little kids younger than 6, you will really enjoy it.The biggest problem is that the entry isn't really cheap, and then everything is nickel-and-dimed. You have to pay $5 for parking (there is no alternative). You have to pay $5 to rent a single tube, $9 to rent a double tube for the day (remember, there are only 2 tube rides to go on). You cannot bring in coolers and food, so aside from the one water bottle you can bring, you have to buy food on site. The food is pretty good, being vended by local restaurants. There os a discount for entry later in the day, so if youre done with the beach and want to cool down, it may be a good option. There are very few lounge chairs available, none of which are in shaded areas. Picnic tables are available in the shade.The lifeguard staff are not as plentiful, vigilant or friendly as those that I've encountered at water parks in Indiana or across the country, and most seem very young. I would like to see more on the slides.Hopefully next season will bring more rides and improvements, but if you are looking to spend an entire day of water park thrills, you are better off heading to Deep River Water Park in Lake County, especially for the price.
