This is a large park with many features: a lake, with limited swimming, a pioneer village, a covered bridge (nice for stealing a kiss), nature trails, and camping.

Our family of three had some time to kill so we followed the signs to Fowler Park. We were pleasantly surprised to find the well preserved historic village and a covered bridge. The buildings are in good shape. There is plenty of parking and space to spread out.

I'm writing this review sitting at our camp site. This is our first time camping here at Fowler Park. After spending the last 3 nights here I have to say we think it's great. We are tent camping in the primative area and accommodations at the site are perfect. They have water access close as well as portapoties and his and her shower houses. There are also sand pits at each site for u to set up your tent on so its smooth and level. Fishing from our site was ok. Most everything we caught was small but we caught enough to still have fun. There's also a nice fire pit with built in grill to cook on. The only reasons I rated 4 instead of 5 is due to the weird shower house set up where u can't keep ur belongings close and see that they're safe and the $5 price tag on the small bundles of wood. Maybe it's best to just sneak in your own as long as you know it's bug free. Overall tho this is a great and very comfortable place for couples and families alike. The gates being closed from 10pm-6am can give those that need it an even better sense of security.

Fowler park is a very scenic place to visit. I personally love to fish and Fowler park has many small ponds beside the main lake to fish at. I have caught Bass, Blue Gill and Catfish. I have even seen people pull out monster carp. They have plenty of picnic areas and they also have swimming on a beach. If you cross over their coved bridge, you ate transported back to a pioneer village, with authentic cabins and churches. On certain scheduled events they have people dressed in period clothing doing reenactments. They also have a campground area, but I have had the opportunity to stay there yet. But it is a nice kid friendly place to go and get in touch with nature.

They have a nice lake to swim in and to fish in. They have a nice camp ground to stay at. They also have different programs at the park during the year.

Fowler Park is a great place for just getting away for a little while! The village of log cabins and covered bridge also make it a seasonal favorite, especially in the fall and winter. Pioneer Days (held in October) create a historic flavor for those interested in what it was like to be a pioneer living in a log cabin in the 1800s. The Christmas Walk (held in the first weekend in December) is particularly magical. Luminaria light the way through the village of original log homes and provide a chance to see how the pioneers celebrated the holiday. In some cabins, the pioneers showed how they carved or hewed wooden gifts. The blacksmith made candle holders and other metal crafts. In other cabins, family members decorated trees, sang Christmas carols, and read the story of the birth of Jesus. It is a joyous event as the volunteers reenact the story of people on the western (as Indiana was in the early 19th century) frontier. What a great way to begin the Christmas holiday!

This park is so pretty. Tons of log cabins, a covered bridge, a good sized lake for fishing, and campgrounds. They have seasonal event such as the Pioneer Days and Christmas Walk. I love this place for taking photos. They also have nice clean playground.

Very nice park south of Terre Haute. Has small lake , camp grounds, and large settlement of a pioneer village with grist mill, many log cabins, blacksmith shop. Several times a year they open the village with volunteers to reenact the pioneer lifestyle with many displays and is great for children.
