I see it got a bad review because of ticks....anyone who has been outdoors very much at all knows that ticks are nearly unavoidable, and this has nothing to do with the park or the staff, this is a well-known hazard to being in the woods or grasslands. 2014 was a terrible year for ticks across the country, and while I'm all for people getting out and having their first nature experience, please do some research before you go.Anywhoo, this park is very well kept and has many beautiful trails and trailheads. Their cabins are affordable and well maintained as well as more primitive camping. They have horse, canoe and group camps available in addition to electric camps. I come here every year, been to many weddings and graduation parties here, and we do day visits pretty regularly. It's a great place to see some of natural Indiana.

Nice park, the sites were separate enough where you don't feel like you are on your neighbors. The bathrooms are older and show it but are clean. The only downside I saw was that when it rained sites were flooded. If there is going to be any amount of rain, be careful, we had about 3 hours of rain and many tents were flooded. One camper said a few weeks back it rained so hard for over 5 hours that everyone who was in a tent left. Camper and RV's no problem because you are off the ground. We will be back.

Excellent place for family camping. Park had lots of activity planned. During our three nights camping we did canoe on Tippecanoe River. There are many rental places you can rent canoe/kayak from. We attended sky watching at late night. An armature who brought his 10 in telescope. Kids loved activities at nature center. Spend over 3 hours there. We tried fishing, but did not find Tippecanoe River is a good place for fishing. People camping there are friendly. Toilet and shower are clean. We will go back for camping again.

Two couples with two travel trailers and two dogs stayed there for one night on May 11, 2014. Guys took a bike ride while wives took a walk and then we all had dinner outside. Beautiful area, but the air was swarming with mosquitoes and we had to pick ticks off our bodies and our dogs bodies for days to come. There should be a warning about the ticks or the place should just be shut down! They need to spray with something that is way more effective! We spent the next travel day reading about proper tick removal and the threat of lime disease. To Tippecanoe: Prove to me that you have done an effective tick spray and I will change my review!!

This Indiana state park has several trails, some of which follow the Tippecanoe river. The trails are mostly flat. The total incline is 85 feet. A easy slope rate that make for easy hiking. The longest trail is 3.5 miles, (total). Nice hike around a large pond. Nice boat ramp for canoeing or fishing. Plenty of nice clean picnicking areas available. This park also has several double use trails. The horses always have the right away. The cabins are fairly new and have a great rate. Boat, camping and horse permits are required. Book ahead in peek times. This park is clean, and is a pack in , pack out park. Note, Due to the wetlands, Do take bug spray, in the spring and summer.

We went for a day trip to Tippecanoe River State Park and enjoyed it very much. It costs $5.00 per car to enter any state park in Indiana. We found the picnic areas to be well cared for and not at all busy for Labor Day. The trails are well-marked and plentiful - there are many for just hikers as well as some for horse-back riding. We didn't use the canoes, but we saw people who were and it looked like lots of fun. We also checked out the cabins (1 room, 2 bunk beds, fire pit and grill outside) which looked inviting. As another reviewer stated, there are mosquitos here and we got a few bites in the middle of the day; dusk must not be much fun without Deet.

We stayed here mid-June for 2 nights. The camp sites are tight, but well shaded. The tightness is mainly due to the trees, but they make it difficult getting the trailer in and out. The playground and shower houses were nice and well kept. The biggest drawback was the mosquitoes. They were swarming terribly. Unfortunately it rained most of our time here. Between the rain and skeeters, we didn't do any hiking. The river was flooded, so we didn't get to canoe. The nature center was small, but the staff was friendly. I would have liked to have had more info available about canoeing on the Tippecanoe River.All that said, we do look to return sometime in late summer to better enjoy what the park has to offer.
