A very popular park especially in the Fall season. If you catch the color at the right time you can witness stunning views from the park vista's. Of course with every good thing comes higher prices. Things usually double in price in the Fall. We were here for the National Maple Syrup Festival which was interesting with all of the activities going on. They had pioneer and Indian camps and Maple Syrup making demonstrations. It's a great park and remember it's 5;00 dollars to get in and 7;00 dollars a car for out of state.

We enjoyed our trip to Brown County State Park during the Maple Syrup Festival. The activities included Native American Reenactment of the methods for syrup tapping and making sugar. As well as the pioneer reenactment making bowls and cooking down the sugar. There was kettle coffee cake being cooked over the fire. Examples of the the shelter used during the period. It was all very interesting. The ground was still somewhat snowy and soggy but it was worth it. Very family friendly!,

Love this park, we enjoy hiking in The mountains so this park is great and close to home! Campsites are nice and have good RV sites!

I contacted the tourist center in Nashville, Indiana and questioned them whether stores were open due to the extreme temperatures and inclement weather. They said yes, most of the stores were open. I booked a reservation for a cabin at the state park and since there was about three hours involved, this was why I checked first. The Brown County State Park Lodge and Cabins offers a buy one, get one free night Sunday through Thursday and from November through February. I am one among many that loves the town for it's unique, quaint, and specialty shops, and combined with staying at the Lodge or in a cabin makes the trip a fun mini vacation. I arrived Tuesday February 24, and was extremely disappointed when we went into town. There was a spattering of stores open, only about seven or eight. I stopped in at the tourist center to inquire why they said that the stores were open, and the reply was that they are required to tell us that whether they are or not! I said that information would have been good to know before driving there, and if I had paid full price for both nights, I would have been extremely perturbed. On the upside of things, the stay in the park is always fantastic. The lodge has been around for many years, has that old time ambiance, offers a restaurant inclusive with a buffet, (the prices are decent and the food is good), and an indoor aquatic center with slides and a sizeable hot tub. The lodge has a huge fireplace that you can lounge in front of and just warm up or get cozy with a book or magazine. The family cabins are very roomy and can accomodate a good number of people. It has a full kitchen, two bedrooms upstairs, and two daybeds with trundle beds underneath plus very comfortable lounging chairs and other seating. There is a wood-burning stove in the center of the room if you would like to build a fire and they provide the wood in a common area. I would recommend a fire in the harsh cold of winter anyway, and other times for the cozy ambiance. The park also has the widest assortment of trees in the country, and is known for it's beautful vistas and assortment of colors in the fall. Other than all of this, there is more to offer--a huge outside pool in the summer, riding trails with a horse barn, camping, horseman camping, and covered picnic areas. You will love this place anytime you come, but be prepared to make reservations in advance or you may not get in the Lodge or cabins. Be aware though if inclement weather exists--the stores may be closed!!

My husband and I went here for his birthday. We are birders from Southern Indiana, and we were thrilled to see an immature bald eagle perched over a clearing. We were also impressed that the snowy roads were plowed within a few hours of a snow storm. Will definitely be back!

The park is ok but after seeing many US parks this one really pales... Took my mother here and to shop in nearby Nashville as well for 3 years in a row (only 4 hr drive for us) and first trip the shopping was fun, second year it got a bit redundant, third year I saw the same items selling from 3 years ago!! Including same leftover clothing stock and STILL regular price/no markdowns! The truth why there seems to be so much to shop for? They never put things on sale, they just add to it. Won't ever go back-would just be exact same things in stores and once you see the park you don't need to see again. Did I mention dining in the area is subpar...and lodging is way overpriced for what they offer...WAY OVERPRICED. Nashville is a very very cute town, too bad they don't really have it all together.

Brown county park is a great place to hike, ride bikes or ride horses. There is an Inn on the property if you prefer to eat inside rather than take a picnic.

Great park to drive through and view the scenery. Best time for me is at dusk when you can see deer along the road grazing for food. Many areas to pull off from the road and take pictures or just view the valley.

This park is very accessible and lovely to walk around. The lodge is pretty cool with an amazing indoor pool that is fun to play in. Great for family reunions or weekends with the kids! They also have cabins that are cute!

A great park that I am glad was saved for the people. The trees are only 75 years old as this area was clear cut at the turn of the century to make furniture at a local factory. But now a must see for every visitor to Nashville Indiana. Also now offers 50 miles of mountain bike trails. Some of the best east of the Mississippi river.

State Park with Lodge, Swimming Pool, Campgrounds, Trails [Mountain Bike, Horse, and Hiking]. Gates open basically daylight hours. Natural and re-growth forested hills with outstanding views. Spend a few hours or all day. Very crowded during the fall color season. Excellent choice for a weekend retreat.

Very peaceful, great service and good food at lodge. Great to get out & walk park. Fun to go in town shop or just look.

We toured this beautiful park in the fall and we were treated to nature at its best. Nice hiking trails and a covered bridge to greet you!

We spent fall break nearby so we could enjoy the park and were not disappointed. We hiked many of the trails and biked several others. The entire park is well maintained and easy to navigate. Some of the best MTB trails in the state.

The trails are wonderful; the woods are beautiful. We love to explore the horse trails and the mountain bike trails.
