council grove reservoir

this is a very lovely lake. But please be careful if you go summing. my son was cut very bad on his knee and my daughter was cut on her foot. We was in a swim area so I think we just had bad luck that day.

Camped here with a group of friend: Very nicely kept camping areas. Public restrooms and showers were very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Grounds were clean and well kept. Had a great time and are looking forward to returning.

CG Reservoir is a great place to hike, fish, camp, or boat. Personally I like to kayak, and you can kayak with no charge here. Just be sure to go in on one of the designated entry areas, and do not go in near the swimming beach, or the park rangers will get mad. There are several playgrounds for kids, most coves have electricity and concrete pads, picnic tables are covered, all have fire pits and grills. Some coves are more rustic than others. There is seldom anyone else on the water when I go kayaking, so I hope you will come out and I can see you there. On the weekends many folks take out their boats to ski and fish and enjoy the water. The drive to CG through the Flint Hills is wonderful and worth the trip.
