This is one of the nicest bike/ped paths in the world. Incredible views, beautiful beaches and nice places to eat/drink. The bike path is on the east side of the island starting at Lyndgate park in Kapaa (6 miles north of the airport). Go into Kapaa and rent a bike at any of the places along the Kuhio highway in Kapaa. Then start your adventure. Lydgate beach park is to the south and Kapaa beach park is to the north. The ride to Lydgate is about two miles. You go by Wailua beach and the Wailua river before you get to the park.At the park there are bathrooms, showers, picnic tables and life guards. There are two baby beaches ie sheltered areas surrounded by a breakwater. The snorkeling is very good.Going north towards Kelia you will see some of the most beautiful beaches in Kauai. There are red cliffs going down to the crystal clear blue water. In the winter you can see the whales breaching.Stop and take a swim. The go to the Beachwalk restaurant and have a great breakfast, lunch or dinner while to are looking at a beautiful white sand beach. You can also ride/walk into old town Kapaa (named one of the 15 most beautiful towns in America by Forbes Magazine and the only one in Hawaii). There are great shops, places to eat and coffee shops in Kapaa.A local favorite is JavaKai. They have great food, good coffee and a very cool island vibe.

The Kauai Path located at Kealia Beach follows the beach to both the east and to the west for excellent views of scenery, birds and an occasional whale breach if one keeps an eye out. The paved path is in excellent condition and allows safe walking and biking. When we spent over an hour walking on the path on a weekday around noon, we only passed a dozen walkers and a handful of bikers. It was peaceful and relaxing with numerous appealing spots along the way for photos. We found ourselves stopping frequently when we saw whales, dolphins and a large variety of birds. This is an ideal outing for those seeking a low risk easy activity. As world travelers for the past 2.5 years, we appreciated the opportunity to walk without having to navigate difficult and steep trails. Children or teens may not find it interesting enough to hold their attention unless they're on bikes. At the entrance to either direction at Kealia Beach, there are restrooms and places to rest.

Such a gorgeous path. We rented bikes for $15 for 2 hours, right behind Ono family restaurant. It was a beautiful ride, and we saw seals!

We like this walk, the hikes are nice but this is an easy walk with gorgeous coastal views, watch for whales, turtles, kayakers, and surfers. You have to watch out for the bikes but overall a nice relaxing walk, bring water as it gets quite warm.

We rented bikes from a little bike shop behind Ono Ono Shave ice ($10 for 2 bikes for one hour). The ride is easy on this paved path and the views were outstanding. We actually rented the bikes for two hours but one would have been enough. If you are staying close this is a beautiful walk for sunrise or an evening stroll. It's well worth your time.

We saw whales at times and even stopped and watched sea turtles swimming in the waves. Such beautiful views along the path of the ocean and beaches.

Forget all the hard-to-get-to hiking trails, and take this paved, long, ocean-side-breath-taking-views path! Easy enough so that you can bring your toddler and your 80-year old, yet long enough in case you want to challenge yourself and walk/run fast for endurance. The views are amazing all along, and it has several parking and restroom spots along it. I think this path is one of the best features of Kauai.

We rented bikes and cruised the trail which is a very gentle incline until the end. Great views and stopping points throughout. Really fun ocean view tree swings!

My husband and I found this trail while looking for a place to do some running while in Kauai. We came right at sunrise, and it was stunning. The trail itself is mostly flat, and offers gorgeous views of the coast that only were magnified with the sunrise. I'd recommend this trail to anyone looking for a place to stretch their legs.

We both ran and walked this path, a few times, during our stay. Very easy for people that might not be that active normally. Enjoyable for anyone who loves ocean views...with the occasional whale sighting!

It is so nice that this path was built. You can walk/jog/bike ride along the path for miles. The views along the coast are just gorgeous. However you travel along the path it is well worth it.

We used to love walking along the coast from Kapa'a toward "surfer beach" aka Kealia....This time we parked there and headied north. I loved seeing the vestiges of the old pinapple drop, there are plenty of places to stretch or relax on a bench in the shade, or bring a picnic to enjoy. Walkers are not mowed down by the bicycles like so many other places. We saw lots of whales too!

I've never seen a path like this anywhere! This path goes alongside the coconut coast and is walking, biking and jogging friendly. It is flat, wide and paved which makes it even better. You can discover beaches, restaurants, meet others, and take in some of Kauai's most amazing views. There are hundreds of spots you will want to stop and take photos. We also saw lots of whales out in the water while we cruised this path. It is a must do!

We rented bikes at Kauai Cycle shop three times on our last trip and rode the bike path to its end. The path is wide, a smooth pavement, with good signage. The other people on the path are friendly and courteous. There are places to stop with picnic tables and places to stop for great whale watching. At least two places to use public restrooms right next to the path.
