We went to this beack as it is known as you can snorkel to "Turtle Town" just off the beach. The beach itself is a little tricky to find, but there is free parking and a bathroom. The surf was a little rough but there was good snorkeling. Although ironically one of the only beaches we didn't see a turtle at. A nice beach to sit and watch a sunset at. Nice views and sandy.
Just nice little beach, sandy and gave nice waves not for surfing but for bouncing :) ... .... ... ...
Our visit was hindered a little due to high surf ,but still breathtaking! Walk to other beaches and turtle town very close.
This beach was a fantastic beach to relax at for the day! We were staying on Kaanapali beach so Maluaka beach was kind of a long trek from our hotel (it took about 45 minutes to an hour to get there) but it was still worth it! ... It was pretty windy when we were there so we didn't get to take advantage of the great snorkeling location, but still a great spot to be for the day!
This was a great place to visit. We snorkeled, even though the water was rougher than usual, and saw plenty of fish. Very nice coral reefs right near the coast. We didn't see any turtles but saw lots of fish. Also the beach itself is really nice with beautiful views.
Found fish not too far out on the left and turtles around the lava to the right. Beware sitting under a umbrella won't prevent a sunburn! Got toasty red! Had a big shade tree for the little ones and a big beach for lots of swimming. Not for little swimmers as drops off not to far out? Other beaches you could go way out and still be waist high.
DELIGHTFUL! Not a single flaw in any sort! Breathtaking sunrises! Will definitely be going back!! Was in awe of the beauty that surrounded not only the beaches, but everything else!
This is probably the best beaches around. The sand is smooth and soft and the water is a gorgeous color and calm and perfect and perfect for snorkeling and other activities provided the waters and waves are all behaving on the day you visit. Apart from the beach fun, there are other things that you could enjoy around here as well like the turtle village and the coral world
JUST beautiful. Never cease to be impressed by Maul beaches... Simply impressed. Most beaches we visited, from distance... Whale watching... in fact took a Sunset Whale watching tour... awesome!!!
Beautiful beach with even more beautiful sea turtles resting in the coves between the black rocks. We rode our bikes here, great work-out!
Gorgeous water colour, good for swimming, snorkelling & body surfing when wind and waves are low.A bit harder to get to, but a large arc of beach, with smaller numbers of visitors than some. If wind and rollers are up a bit, this is not a place for little kids.
Did not dislike anything - we had perfect weather - the sand sparkled and is so clean - water was perfect
Well hiden by Makana Beach and Golf resort, the Maluaka Beach is true gem. The sand is soft and the beach never gets agglomerated. Once discovered, probably it becames a holiday favorite. Why I like so much Maluaka Beach? It has excellent parking - I realy like the one on the street first right after you pass Makena Resort on South Makena Road. Has clean bathroom facilities, also you can sit on a very nice lawn. Also, the park is good for outdoor party.Just off the beach, on the left, a charming coral garden awaits visitors. Terrific coral, graceful sea turtles and lots of colorful life. Yes, it's a fishbowl. The adjacent turtle village is another reason to choose Maluaka Beach.
This beach is really off the beaten path and just lovely. we tend to visit in the early morning for snorkeling or later afternoon. We park in the lot along Makena Road and have never had a problem on weekdays before 10 or after 3. They also seem to have expanded the lot over the years. The beach is in front of a small quiet resort called the Makena Beach and Golf Club - so it gets their guests and a bunch of locals and tourists with cars who want to try something new. Given the limited parking I've never felt crowded here though I'm sure it can get busy. There is a nice grassy area for picnics and a full bathroom and shower area. The hotel grounds and golf course are well maintained and serene. We haven't seen turtles here (we must be the only ones - we tend to find them at Kamaole III). The fish are great but check the surf- sometimes (especially in the afternoon) it is much better for boogie boarding than snorkeling.
You can get a clear view of the sunset, we visited in October. You also get to see other small islands such as Molokini and the east side of Maui. Great area for an event such as a wedding because of the beautiful background. This beach is small and can get crowded during the day, but by late afternoon the crowds clear out.
