This is a very good park having plenty of play areas, good to walk and have a picnic with family and friends.I visited once in July and had a good time there.
Residents of the Fox Valley are fortunate to have such a large and beautiful park close to home. Two weeks ago my daughter had her senior pictures taken there and we could not have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful setting. The photos were gorgeous and we all had such a lovely time!
The park has a nice setting for Families. I did not get a chance to see one but they have concerts in the field. Very peaceful .
This is a decent park that has a very nice playground, baseball diamonds, and winter sports center. The gardens (in early August) were okay, but nothing special. The main building by the garden center was closed on a weekday as were all the toilets (padlocked) except for a porta-potty near "Marvin's Garden". Porta-potty was spotless, so no real complaints there. Can't recommend the park for a picnic, however. The regular tables are scattered haphazardly around the park, mostly in sunny areas, and next to busy roads or parking lots. The only decent one (although right next to the garden parking lot) is underneath a beautiful tree just off the path to the pavilion. Of course, it is usually occupied. There are several other picnic tables between the playground and pavilion but alas, all are in direct sunlight without shade.Bottom line: decent city park but nothing special. Not ideal for picnics.
This is an excellent, large park in Appleton. Lots of grass and wide open spaces. Sail your toy boats in the lagoon, or play tennis on one of their courts. There is a miracle baseball diamond and playground that accommodates disabled children. Indoor skating rink. Great gardens. Movies on the hill. Nice pavilion for gatherings. Archery also. There is something for everyone here.
this park is amazing. can be used all year long. summer for picnics, baseball, playground, hiking, etc, rest of year, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, walking, roller blading, ice rink in the ice center and beautiful botanicals to enjoy.
I love the fact that handicap children have many options to choose from. So many diff things to do! I booked my daughter's birthday here and the only thing that bugged me was where they put the bathrooms I would prefer to have them on the sides so random people wouldn't be walking through the party.
Great rink and friendly families. They also have an outdoor rink that can be used free of charge. Also noticed a big playground, baseball field and an archery range that can be used in warm weather.
The playground here has a unique ground plastic floor to lessen the chance of owies if a child falls. There are misters for hot days and it is handicap accessible as well. There is also am ampitheatre, baseball diamonds, gardens, a fishing dock, yearly fireworks, etc. Nice safe place to take your kids.
There are large ponds, there are walking paths through prairie areas and bird nesting areas, there is a sledding hill, ice skating warm up shelter, open air performance amphitheater, a large children's play area, a stream with bridges to walk over, baseball and soccer areas, a nice meandering drive through with two entrances, an archery range, picnic areas. It's a wonderful park with many ways to enjoy it. We go there often. Additionally, the 4th of July Fireworks display is done here as well as outdoor "movies on the hill" in the warmer months, concerts.
Trails to walk on, gardens to view. Playground area. Large park with baseball facilities, urban fishing, open space. This was a great place to get out and take a walk on a crisp fall day.
This park is huge. There are baseball diamonds, an indoor ice skating facility, multiple play areas, several ponds, bathrooms and pavilions, and a nature preserve/garden area. The main playground area is outstanding - huge play area with many structures and slides, a gliding boat, ride-on car toys, musical instruments, sand play area, and two misting areas to help out on hot days. And every year the Appleton's Fourth of July fireworks are held here, and thousands attend the festivities.
love to go for a walk, or sit and read, or take pictures, or sit with a picnic lunch, or play in the tennis courts, and run around the play ground equipment.
This beautiful park has the Fox Cities Gardens, has ball fields, several wonderful playgrounds and picnic facilities, an indoor ice rink and archery range. In the summer they have free movies and special events.
Very nice park with lots of amenities. Being from NJ, I cannot beleive all of this is free in a park in Wisconsin. The people who live here are EXTREMELY lucky to have flower gardens, plenty of parking, bike trails, a lake/river, FREE FIREWORKS WITH CONCERT!, etc.
