The Grignon Mansion has recently been restored. It is a must see when visiting in the area. It is open on Saturday and Sunday 12-4 through the weekend after Labor Day.

The mansion is a wonderful piece of history, Having been built in 1837 by Charles Grignon to entice his bride to be to move to the wilderness of Wisconsin. Many original artifacts are displayed in the building. The building now owned by the City of Kaukauna is open to the public on weekends, Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 4 PM until September 14, or by appointment. Tour guides tell you a lot about the building, family, and contents. Very interesting.

I called Outagamie County Historical Society, they did not return a call or an email. All looks in great repair, paint intact, no broken windows, grass mown. But gardens and orchard untended, and there was no way to get inside. I'll try again this summer.

This building is the residence of an early pioneer in the Kaukauna area. By viewing history we have a window in how the people lived. It makes us value what we have today.

According to the Fox Valley Historical Society, the mansion is not accessible to the public at this time. No re-opening info is available.
