Lake Arrowhead is located south of Wisconsin Rapids in a quiet, forested location. It's modest clubhouse does not suggest what you will find inside- excellent food and drinks, along with small town friendly service. The golf course (I prefer the original course) is interesting, well-designed and challenging. There are more than ample traps and beautifully maintained greens. On much of the course, you feel miles from civilization and it is not uncommon for deer or a fox to wander across the fairway. The ninth hole, working around a large lake, is beautiful, but requires precision shot-making. Greens fees are very much a bargain. If you are a golfer of any skill level, treat yourself to this little gem in Central Wisconsin- and stay for lunch.
We enjoyed ourselves greatly and would reccommend to the good golfer, course was tough but well worth the drive.
I am no longer able to play golf, but Arrowhead is a must go for Dinner anytime I am in the area, we had our WTA banquet there in 2013, dinner and décor were fantastic. I've been there a half dozen times for dinner and each time was a Gourmet's delight, always a tasty special on the menu to amaze my taste buds! -- My Compliments to the Chef ! --Ray Moser
Lake Arrowhead Golf Course is a great location and int a beautiful setting. We have a golf outing there every year and I look forward to getting up there. The past two years have been tough on the course. The greens have been in poor shape because of the cold and ice. If it wasn't a tradition, I would be very disappointed if I traveled up there to see these courses. If you go, call beforehand and ask how the greens are.
By waiting until a beautiful October morning we were able to play this beautiful golf course for $29 cart included. The condition of the course was perfect- tee areas, fairways, greens. After our round we were told that it had taken until now to fully recover from ice damage over the past winter, something that almost all courses in this part of the country suffered from. Regular fall rates are $38 which is a bargain but they offer limited times via email with even better offers. We played the Pines one day and the Lakes course the next day. Both courses were wonderful but we thought the pines was a little bit lusher.
Had a nice time golfing with my son on the 4th of July. The coarse was a little worn in the landing zones of the fairways. Some, but not all of the greens were a little worn with dead spots. It seemed the up keep is sliding. Maybe it's the weather. Cost was $69.00 with cart each. The pool area was being very well used that day. There was lots of help on duty, and it looked to have MANY happy people. (too man kids for me). They also made good drinks and some of the best burgers around. The fall is a much nicer time for a round, and less kids. So I'll come back then for sure. Two years ago this was a 5 star course, and I know it will be again.
Played 18 on the Pines course over the 4th of July weekend. Course is in great shape as they marshalls enforce the 90 degree rule to keep the wear from carts to a minimum.
A nice course but not a bargain. Well kept. Worth the visit. Nice little bar and grill. We played the Lakes course- bring bug spray!
This is a great course and for a good price too. It is very well kept up and also a challenge too! There is now 2 courses so make a weekend out of it...then go to the pool after and cool off!
We've golfed here over 20 years. They always maintain the course very well. The holes are beautiful & challenging. Large driving range, pool, tennis courts. They have an incredible craft show the Saturday of Labor Day weekend every year.
