We've been to many different functions and plays at the Grand. Very nice, restored, upstairs nice too. Could use more women's bathrooms, like most places you visit these days. Easy stairs to get up, nice leg room in the seating area. Lovely evening always when we visit. Check out the beautiful needlepoint tapestry on the wall of main lobby, depicting many places in Oshkosh.

Beautiful, historic theater. Smaller venue but comfortable, the restoration to the original theater is first class and the acoustics are exceptional. Wide variety of performances, both national touring and local. Weddings are sometimes even held there. I love seeing dance troupes, plays and concerts at The Grand!

Historic location with quality artists Jeff Daniels, Todd Snyder, Leon Redbone, Asleep at the Wheel, to name a few outstanding artists

very nostalgic, you have that old time theater feel. Great place for local talent to perform as well. Affordable.

The theater is beautifully restored and carries a nice complement of shows on the schedule. The Halloween ghost tour was unlike any other I've seen and is definitely worth a visit!

The Grand Opera House in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is one of the most remarkably preserved historic theatres in the country - you can feel yourself transported back in time when you sit in this marvelous place. The decor is remarkable and the preservation transports you back in time to a lost era in theatre-going. As a theatre goer, this is as close to time travel as you can get.As a child growing up in Oshkosh, I used to walk two miles to the theatre to watch Sunday afternoon movies. There were two movies and a cartoon or adventure short, and the cost was only 15 cents! That was cheaper than the 25 cents charged by Oshkosh's other two theatres. During the cartoon, we often played hide and seek among the many nooks and crannies of the theatre, scrambling on our hands and knees - the other theatre-goers never seemed to mind. People in Oshkosh are very tolerant.Years later - in 1970 - I was a photo editor of our college publications at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a reporter for the local newspaper. I had heard that the distinguished Austrian actor Walter Slezak was coming to appear in a touring production of The Lion in Winter. I went to the theatre before the show and found Mr. Slezak backstage. "Do you mind if I take some photos during the production, for our yearbook?" I asked. "That would be fine," he replied. "Are you sure I won't interfere with the show?" I said. "No, no. It's ok," he said An hour later I was sitting in the balcony and started taking pictures with my Nikon. Each time I took a picture, the sound of the shutter seemed to echo throughout the entire theatre. It was so loud, that's how spectacular the acoustics are in the Grand Opera House. I took several photos, and with each echoing click, I felt that everyone was looking at me but I wanted to capture photos of Walter Slezak. I did not have a chance to talk with him after the show but I always wondered if he knew that authorizing me to take pictures would result in the the camera making such a loud clear and annoying sound. My personal memories of the Grand Opera House are personal and nostalgic. I think that everyone who has a chance to see a performance in this incredible place comes away with a difference experience, but everyone is affected by the ambience, the preservation of the theatre, the unique quality of the acoustics, and the experience of seeing a stage performance exactly like theatre-goers who visited this place more than a century ago.

While visiting Oshkosh, we decided to see the play Blythe Spirit at the Grand Opera House. We enjoyed the play very much and also loved to see the very well preserved building. The community has done a great job of saving and treasuring the building. And those involved also love to tell the Opera House's story.....

Lots of great shows every year in this beautifully restored theater! They schedule a variety of entertainment, with something that will appeal to varying tastes. When you are there, it is easy to picture this theater back in the days when it hosted vaudeville acts! A very intimate theater!

It was an amazing concert. Very talented musicians and the guest conductor was great! Love the atmosphere of the Grand.

This unique Victorian era opera house is a visual and acoustical sensation! It has a charmingly quaint and intimate atmosphere. It only seats around 600-700 so it can't attract big shows, but the small shows it does bring in are wonderful. They have totally remodeled the upstairs to include a beautiful lounge with a full bar. The only down side is the small seats, but if you truly need more room, ask where you can sit for more leg room. Staff is very helpful. If you are in Oshkosh, check out their performance schedule!

It is a beautiful old theater that has recently been renovated, so if you can, check out a show to really experience this historical building.

We attended a high school play here. New performing art centers could study this building and take a lesson in acoustics. Not a bad seat in the house and you can hear soft voices on stage without any amplification.

Beautiful inside. Lots of nice events held there. The acoustics are great for musicals and singing.
