While on a short weekend road trip to Minnesota/Wisconsin with friends, we stumbled onto the Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery more or less by accident. We were on our way back from visiting another winery in the area but on a whim decided to follow the signs to this winery/cidery while driving on the Great River Road. So glad we decided to follow the signs... what a hidden gem! It's located off the beaten path and the drive up to the winery is quite scenic. The location itself is beautiful. They carry a nice variety of local wines as well their own wines and ciders which all can be sampled. The tasting is complimentary. The gentleman working at the tasting counter was absolutely wonderful; he was attentive, friendly and very informative, and made the wine tasting a very fun experience for all of us. We tried several wines, ciders and even mead, and ended up purchasing a few bottles. Besides wine and cider, they also have a nice selection of jams, cheese, gourmet foods and gifts, and fresh apples which were absolutely delicious.

Love this little orchard and the wine and ciders they sell. Their apples and apple products are great as well. It's really fun to visit in the fall, and they have lots of wine from around the state you can sample. Also love the little town of Stockholm. It's a fun day trip to hit this place along with some other wineries along ther way.

We actually accidentally ended up at Maiden Rock Winery while trying to get to another winery. We were SHOCKED at how awesome this place was! Small winery that has so many tasty selections! We were pleasantly surprised at how hard it was to pick which bottles to buy because we wanted them all! This is a bit off the beaten path but so worth the drive! We will definitely be back to visit again!

As a non-beer drinker, I'm excited that craft cideries are starting to pop up around the region and knew I had to stop in and try this one. We visited the Maiden Rock Cidery while we were in the Lake Pepin area watching eagles. We were the only ones there, and the woman working at the tasting counter was great – friendly, attentive, and informative – and helped each of us choose a variety of beverages to try. Their Honeycrisp Hard Cider is a nice light cider that was favored by most of our group. I was more partial to the Scrumpy, which is closer to a British cider. They had a large number of wines available for tasting as well - some they made and others from wineries around Wisconsin. No one in our group was particularly impressed by any of the house made wines, but we did enjoy some of the fruit-flavored meads made by White Winter Winery and also liked the Syrah by Cedar Creek Winery. The shop area includes the cider, wines, and a small selection of wine-related gifts and gourmet foods. We bought a jar of Peach Amaretto Preserves just because it sounded good, and we certainly weren’t disappointed! Note: a small friendly dog greeted us when we arrived. We enjoyed it, but beware if you aren't a dog person.

While on a short weekend road trip with my sister we stopped off in western WI near lake Pepin and went to the Cidery. I was excited because I am a BIG cider fan. The location is great beautiful and we weren't even there on a nice day. It was too windy to spend much time outside, but it seemed like the kind of place were you could take a walk in the orchard and look around. They carried not only their ciders but also other wines from small wineries in the WI area and it was nice to be able to try other things. I tried a number of wines and both of their ciders. The Honeycrisp Hard is very much like a lot of the ciders that are available at your local liquor store. The Scrumpy was different and I really enjoyed it. They have some items available by the bottle and they also had growlers available. There was a nice selection of jams, cheese, and other gift type items in the store.

This is one of the wineries on the Great River Wine Trail. The drive up to the winery is quite scenic and peaceful as there is not much around. We were the only ones there so the service was good. The winery and cidery does not make many of their own wines but the ones they do have are really good, especially the honey crisp hard cider. They also have a variety of other samples you can taste from other wine makers, including mead. The tasting is complimentary and allows you to sample many wines or ciders. They also have a small shopping area where you can buy gifts, apple butter, chutney, and other items. Since it is early in the season there is not much to see, but this would definitely be a place to check out at harvest. I would go back to Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery to drink wine and pick apples in the orchard.

Because of the rain we didn't do any of the outdoors stuff, but we had a nice time anyway. We did the tasting, it was only $5 & we got to try a lot of wines & ciders. We also got to sample just about any apple we wanted, including "heirloom" apples from way back when, and they had an apple chutney to sample that was AMAZING.

There is nothing wrong with the place but nothing really to bring us back either. Average wines poured by someone that appeared bored with what they are doing. There are too many local wineries that get it right to make it worth our while to come back. The grounds are nice but that was about it.

We were the only two people there at the time so it was pretty quiet and we did get good service. We weren't real fond of the wines or cider but the people were friendly and the place is VERY nice. Nice, clean bathroom also. We did buy some Apple Cherry Butter - Oh My God, it's sooooo good!

This stop was part of a winery tour with friends. We aren't big on apple wines, but the ciders were very good--we each bought some hard cider. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. If you go, ask for Bob to do your tasting--we loved visiting with him. They also had wines from other Wisconsin wineries that I've visited, so it was nice to be able to buy some of those favorites, as well. They also had us taste the sauces and cheese curds before we purchased, saying they wanted to make sure we would like what we were getting. Tasting is free, as long as purchases are made. Definitely a worthwhile stop and a place on my "to return to" list.

This is a fun place with great cider and wine. They are very generous and encourage you to try the cider and wine. Bob was very fun and knowledgeable. This is a most stop when in this area. I would definitely recommend.

From the honey crisp hard to the Crispin to the zestar wine... oh, yum. Be brave and try some of the more serious traditional style hard ciders - so complex and wonderful!

We took a day trip from the Twin Cities. Nice drive. Wine and cider were good. Staff was very pleasant.

I've been here many times this past summer. I like the gold, and I keep running out. The staff is really great and helpful. Not only can you taste the wines, you can buy it by the glasses. Nice to kick back and enjoy it ,outside on a glider !
