The Richard Wall House dated from 1682 is a walk back in to history. I always enjoy seeing how life was back then. I only wish that the home was larger and the tour longer. While walking through it's amazing to feel that you are walking through history in a home over 300 years old. I have often taken visitors to this attraction as one of the local attractions to see.
The Richard Wall House Museum offers a unique glimpse into Cheltenham Township's history as well as Pennsylvania history. The house is dated from1682 and listed on state and national historic registers. The house museum features four floors of exhibits, a springhouse, a smoke house and a carriage house. The museum’s extraordinary displays include a Roaring 20s room, an extensive 19th century tool collection, fashion displays, a Colonial bedroom and kitchen, a military exhibit, and a nursery with a five-foot electrified dollhouse. The house was built by Richard Wall on land that was sold by William Penn that would eventually form Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The house had the distinction of being the oldest Pennsylvania house in continuous residence until rehabilitation began. It is also one of the oldest Quaker Meeting Houses still standing in America.
