the artists hand gallery & espresso bar

We waited a long time for this space to open and it does not disappoint. The bright airy space filled with beautiful works of art is such a nice place to visit anytime of the day or year. This gem of a business has brought so much to our community in the form of art, classes,a venue for fundraisers and art openings, and even a place to host a small gathering. The coffee bar lets visitors know they are welcome to linger and enjoy the art and even meet up with friends for a nice break in their day to day schedule. I am not sure why, but every time I walk into this gallery/shop I leave my worries behind and bask in all the bright colors and creativity covering the walls. A must visit place.

This little shop is filled to the brim with wonderful hand made treasures. Beautiful pottery, art work and jewelry that calls my name. The prices are reasonable for most pieces and the selection is varied. Also a nice coffee bar on the premises if you want to sit and chat while visiting.

Friendly, nice spot. Local artwork for sale. Very good events that support the local community! Bright space.

Stopped in for a good barista coffee and were thrilled to find a quality art gallery as the centerpiece of the place. The coffee was high caliber and prepared by super-friendly staff. This is not simply a café with art on the walls as an afterthought. Looking out on Philadelphia Street, the coffee bar and seating area were only part of a large space devoted to pieces by local artists--paintings, ceramics, sculptures, etc. The gallery's layout, high ceilings, and effective lighting enhanced the already impressive art--paintings, ceramics, sculptures, jewelry, etc. A mix of IUP art faculty and established local artists had items on display. Having just come from New Hope, PA, where we were unimpressed by most of the art on display, this was a very satisfying experience. And, we were fortunate enough to meet and chat with a couple of the artists busy at work on a new show. The space even has a separate working studio available to artists. What a great idea and a great find! We made sure to re-visit the Artists Hand once more during our visit to Indiana, for another coffee fix and an art purchase.
