Nice walking trails, especially along the wooded paths. Quiet and close to town. They also have a museum and a pool area (Seasonal)

Nay Aug Park is a nice place to visit if you're looking for a quiet place. Situated behind Geisinger Hospital (Formerly CMC), it has an abundance of tall trees that provide plenty of shade. The tree house is a cool place to stop to get away and take in some nature. No, there is not much to do here other than to walk/hike around, but sometimes that's all you need. There is a trail that leads down to see the railroad tracks and a pretty cool gorge. If you need handicap accessibility, I'm pretty sure the main part of the park under the trees is accessible. There may be some inclined areas that may be a little steeper, but overall it should be okay. At Christmas time, it is a tradition of ours to go through the light display. It's free!

Walking past the closed down zoo always brings back child-hood memories, the tree-house will forever be a background photo destination for many seniors & couples looking to have their pictures taken. The bridge that leads across the river is beautiful, but more work needs to be done with clearly marking walking trails to lead visitors to the wealth of "look-out" spots that have wonderful scenic views.

When I first moved to Scranton 5 years ago I did not know any place like this existed... I am so glad it does! There is a wonderful playground for kids, hiking, trails, there are always a ton of pets here and for the most part everyone here is friendly. It is a very relaxing and tranquil place right outside of the city. If you live near Scranton or are traveling here for some reason... Stop here and check it out!

Absolutely fell in love with this place. It is huge!! My husband and I did the trail and we took our two year old even to the park that is conveniently located on the grounds. The park is clean and we'll maintained. The nature is just simply stunning... I fell in love with the history of this park and it's natural beauty. The river is stunning...quiet...refreshing...and is almost too beautiful for words to describe it. I took amazing photos during my Christmas vacation. Can't wait to return to this park!

Since going to university in Scranton...some of my BEST memories came from spending time in NayAug. It was a way to "escape the city" and immediately be worlds away in nature!!!Whether taking photos, walking dogs, hiking, practicing rock climbing...I loved every minute spent their. And NOW it's becoming a Great Christmas Light tradition I refuse to miss!!! The "Electric City" shows off with some fun displays to walk (or ride) around to get in the Holiday Spirit. Make sure to bring a little $$ to donate...it's worth it!!!

Just as Thanksgiving ends the Christmas season begins and as a family tradition we love to visit the Nay Aug Park Christmas Lights Display. It is a walk or drive through event that takes place every day in December and Santa visits in the Santa Train on December 6th and so kids can tell of their holiday wishes and get their picture with Santa. Every day in December with the exception of Dec 24, 25, + 31st. It is worth the drive to see the beautiful light show display! Here is the link for this yearly calendar http://www.scrantonpa.gov/calendar/default.asp?cat=all

Nice place to take a walk. There is a tree house, plenty of trails? A museum, a pool, plenty of pavilions and even some Geocaching. Dog friendly. Kid friendly.

I've been coming here since the park had rides years and years ago! I've always loved it. There are lots of places to walk, picnic, play, swim (seasonal) and just enjoy yourself and your family/friends. The Everhart Museum is close by and worth a visit. Check it out--especially in the Christmas season when they have their light show. Just awesome.

Nay Aug park is a really nice park to explore. If you choose to take your dog with you pleases bring water and a snack for them, the trails might be a little long. My dog was so tired from it she fell asleep on the way home. Some of the trails are not for dogs read the signs. The negative part of this visit was the stupidity of some of the kids diving off the cliff into the gorge we choose not to go and watch. They ruined the natural beauty of the scenery.

I live in Scranton and I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I have rarely utilized the park in the 17 yrs I resided here. I'm a runner and I began to drive up to the park to run for a safe alternative to the street. I was blown away by how nice the scenery is, how well kept the area is and how many families truly take advantage of the space. I have seen countless parties, picnics and reunions throughout this summer. The sounds of children and laughter everywhere. The trails, the play ground and the tree house are all lovely. Good job Scranton! I will continue to run through the park, especially on days I need a pick me up.

This is a nice park for the City of Scranton. The Nay Aug Gorge is without question the main attraction here and does require some hiking. However, there are other neat attractions such as the tree house and covered bridge. There is plenty of space to hike, a community pool, and an art museum which I have no visited. It's a nice place to get away from the noise of the city for a bit. The only complaint would be some of the wear and tear along with the trash I came across in some areas. I suppose this is expected, but it was more than I had hoped to see. It's a shame some people have to ruin it for others. Either way, I would stop here again and recommend check out the drive through Christmas Light display during the Christmas season. It's great family night out with small donation to charity.

The highlight of our trip to the park was walking down to nay aug gorge and watching a group of beer-fueled young adults jump off 20 foot high cliffs into the water. There were a couple of great acrobatic divers among the rest who could have won a belly flop contest had their been a judge present. If you are a hiking enthusiast, there are a few short, easy, relatively flat walking paths in in the park which someone has dared to label "trails" with "moderate" difficulty. Very nice picnic areas and kids playground.

This park has a lot to offer right in the middle of Scranton. I parked in the lot near the museum and looked at the trail map. I noticed they did a great job describing how long and difficult each trail is. I followed the signs to the "gorge" which had a waterfall and was gorgeous. Decks were built as platforms from which to view the falls and rocky terrain. I saw a tourist train enter the tunnel by the gorge. Next, I went to check out the large tree house built above the Davis Trail which was very impressive. Then, I went to walk over a covered bridge above the gorge on the same trail. They also had picnic areas, a greenhouse, the museum, pavilions, a swimming pool with waterslide and flower gardens, as well as a children's playground. The park was really impressive and I explored the whole place and felt that I got a good workout. The park is free but there is a charge to swim and I believe to tour the museum.

Nice place for a walk. See the treehouse and walking paths. Also there is a museum at the park, that was really nice.
