outrider horseback riding

My wife and I had such a good time! Horses were calm and healthy, trails were nice, and it was a nice laid back ride!

Our entire family really enjoyed our 2 hour trail ride. The trails are beautiful, and Doug is friendly and experienced. We enjoyed getting to know him and a bit about his long history in the horse business. The horses were all wonderful (we rode 7 of them, so got a good representation), and clearly enjoyed the "work" they were doing. They were surprisingly spirited, not the usual "plod along" stable horses you usually get on a trail ride. Exactly what we were hoping for! We have novice and experienced riders and everyone was comfortable. We will definitely be riding at Outrider again whenever we return to Traverse City!

I've owned horses on & off over the years so I'm kinda picky. Beautiful trails, well maintained horses and the owner and Brenda our guide was fantastic!

Not necessarily a fan of horses, as the parents of three girls we made reservations solely for the children and came away wholly impressed. We arrived to find everything ready to go and all of us novices made to feel at ease with the animals and the process of saddling up. Our young guide was perfect with our kids and the hourlong ride went through country roads, meadows and wooded trails. Everyone on site was genuine and generous with their time and expertise. We would definitely make a reservation to ride again and would not hesitate to recommend Outrider to anyone spending a few days in the Leelanau Peninsula.

We had no idea what to expect & were pleasantly surprised! This place is like from another era..original step back in time!! The owner was so friendly & informatice & made the experience much more authentic! Great time & great value..can't wait to go back with the kids!!
