A terrific theater experience all around! It is clean, the seats are spacious and the choice to enjoy while watching a movie is always appreciated!
I love this theater because they make fish bowls, the food is great and the movie theater seating is excellent. I love the fact I can eat a meal, go bowling, shot pool and watch a movie all at once. Every time my friends suggest a movie theater to watch a movie, Emagine is always my first choice and I can't wait to have another outstanding eventful night there. Prices are good and the only bad thing is that if there are a lot of people out that night, it might be hard to find a parking spot but it is all worth it in the end.
First and last time to see a movie here.Yes, you will get a parking ticket for parking even a few minutes past the amount of time you paid.So take into account the previews and commercials before the movie. There are lots of other suburban theaters nearby that give free parking and some even have matinee pricing which you'll never find here.
Best movie theater that I've ever been. Reasonable prices. Awesome seating. Alcohol and better pizza than a pizzeria. Loved it!
Nice holiday party at Emagine Theater, but we were totally dismayed when we exited builidng on Decemberf 4, 2014 to find the people in our work party group, all 11 of us had parking tickets on our cars for $35.00 each from the Central Parking Corporation, located in Cincinnati, Ohio (not even a Michigan based ticket company)No one told us at Emagine Theater upon entering builidng that we had to pay for parking. There were no meters in lot. Nor were there signs posted tellling us where to pay for tickets, or giving us directions on how to pay for parking tickets, or that there would be tickets given. There were only valet signs posted. When we contacted Emagine manager, he stated that Central Parking owns parking structure, and they have nothing to do with it. Isn't that odd, that a large company like Emagine would not have anything to do with parking fees. Isnt it even odder, that they do not even tell patrons about parking fee payment centers, and where they would be located. Clearly this is a rip off and the ..even our Royal Oak parking tickets throught the city are $10.00 with a late 30 day non payment fee of $25.00..not $35.00 for a 3 hour venue parking fee. This is a rip off and someone needs to get to the bottom of it....Come clean Emagine Theater and the City of Royal Oak...what goes on here....I wont be back because of this ever...and I live in Royal Oak....Writing Better Business Bureau....we will get to the bottom of this...complainers write BBB and call the City of Royal Oak to get action. This cant continue...no one will be patrons of the City of Royal Oak. Company who own several parking lots is Central Parking ...check out online..complain to management headquarters of Emagine Theater also.
I was so happy when an Emagine Theatre opened up close to me. And better yet, it is a great theatre. I love that I can buy and reserve my seats on line before I go so I don't have to stand in line to purchase tickets, as the line can be long. Parking is tough sometimes, but that is because it is Royal Oak and you have to pay to park, and it can be hard to get a spot unless you go into the parking garage. Seats in the theatre are comfy and the concession stand has lots of choices. Also, there is bowling alley inside, although I have never used the alley.
This was our first time eating or bowling at Emagine. We were both a bit disappointed. The menu didn't have a lot to offer, our server was pleasant but the service was a bit slow, the food was decent but pricey for what it was. The atmosphere was nice, a good mixed crowd, families, couples, friends but we did see other tables with some of the same complaints, mostly about the overall service. The bowling was nice but not for you serious bowlers out there (remember the price includes your shoes) I believe they need some better management and possibly some more staff on hand at least on busy weekend nights. We will probably just stick to going to Emagine for movies.
This really is a great venue for parties and events. But it is pretty expensive and the food isn't great. I haven't tried everything but I wasnt impressed with most of the menu. It's still a fun atmosphere and the private rooms are great for parties, if you can afford to rent them out.
I was there to watch Man of steel and the facilities need renovations and a popcorn supplier change.
Always clean, and offers a $6 option before 6pm even on weekends. Staff always friendly. My favorite place to see a movie.
You are eligible for a parking ticket in the city of Royal Oak even after paying to park in a public garage. I learned this the hard way in March of 2014 when I returned to my vehicle after a night on the town. Imagine my surprise at receiving a parking ticket on my window in a public garage that I had paid to park in. I have since learned that the city of Royal Oak makes it a priority to issue as many parking tickets as it can to fund the city due to declining property values. It's sad to see a municipality so desperate for revenue. Don't believe the hype about how great a place it is to visit. I doubt if I will ever feel the desire to return.
I really like the Emagine chain of movie theaters - the prices are reasonable and the theaters are well maintained. My only problem with the Royal Oak location is the constrictions due to its size. There are only a couple large theaters and if you are in one of the smaller ones and don't pay for the premium seats you can be as close as 4 or 5 rows back - way too close for me.
Anytime you can get a drink with your popcorn, you know the movie will be even better. It is such a treat to see a movie here. Very clean and well kept, with premium seating so comfortable that you can sit back and just enjoy the movie.
The Royal Oak Emagine Theaters are everything you would expect - luxury seats, space that you can find only in first class, superb sound, bowling alley, bar cum cocktail lounge. The price reflects the amenities, but is probably worth it. What is missing is parking - or at least convenient parking. If you're lucky enough to snatch a spot, be sure to remember your parking space number, or you will be making another trip back to find your car. And, to the already higher price for your film tickets, be sure to add more for the parking. So not only is the parking not free; it is not convenient. The unkindest cut of all is that you have to literally fight to find a parking space, and then pay for the privilege of the hassle. This Emagine location is definitely not ready for prime time.
Close to home. Love the senior special on Wednesday. Hate the increase in price. Hate to pay for parking. I understand this is not the theaters choice, but the city of royal oak.
