This beautiful church brings many memories back for me. Sundays going to church with my grandmother, uncle, and sister when Pastor Ottie gave the sermons after sunday school class. I would just be in awe looking around at the stained glass windows, all the carvings, and the large chandeliers. The pipe organ is really something too. I was fascinated as a child with so much history this landmark presents. I even remember the upstairs large room with the oak floors and stage. Loved the Christmas Sermons. So much history this has! My parents where married in Trinity.
About 10 years ago we popped in on a week day and looked around and it was beautiful. Fast forward to today when we went here for a Christmas concert and once again it was a beautiful setting for an excellent concert. The architecture is interesting to say the least and the building has a lot of detail.
The church is exquisite! Amazing what history is held within the walls and the people. The church is so very beautiful. It is well worth a tour. Totally amazing!
Walk into Historic Trinity and it is like walking back in time in Europe. I had no idea that such a gorgeous church still existed in Detroit. It's an honor to worship there and all are welcomed.
Beautifully preserved, the church is stunning. Active and vibrant, be sure and check out their annual Christmas Open House and German Market.
Wonderful Lutheran Church and love that they have some services in German. Brings back wonderful memories of my childhood.
So very beautiful and serene, this church looks almost medieval in its architecture. I loved sitting in the church and connecting with my faith.
I love visiting old churches. This one is gorgeous. It may not be open all the time, but if it is, you must visit. You will love it.
It has always been a pleasure to go here for the late night service. It does not matter much whether you are actually Lutheran.
It is the cathedral for Lutherans in the Detroit area! Even if you are just looking for a place to worship-this is it!
It felt inspirational and I could feel the history.
Amongst the most beautiful churches in Detroit. Located on your way to Eastern Market. In early December they have an event on a Saturday to view their beautiful decorated church (MANY trees and creches), with home made treats for sale (many are German). People visit Europe to tour the churches, there are dozens of Historic Churches in Detroit that equal and surpass the beauty that people travel for; this is one of them.
This is a beautiful, historic church. A tour here is well worth it. Visit the basement for the doll houses. They also have nativities from all over the world. At Christmas they have hundreds of trees.
