The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum's winter hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Due to weather conditions on February 2, some of the museum properties were closed. Thank you for stopping by our museum gallery.

A little pricey for a self guided tour but very informational. You get to go through 4 homes. would like to see more interactive things on this tour.

though it was very cold when we were there and some of the bldgs were not heated it was well worth the walk through tour; I'm sure in summer one can more through at a slower pace and enjoy the outdoor gardens, but we just zipped through; may return in summer or early fall.

We purchased a year pass for our family and we spend a day in Hannibal. We visited the museum and the exhibits are really well done, organized and informative. There is a lot to read and for kids, several areas where they can interact "being in shoes of the book's characters" like painting the fence or walking inside the cave, or being on the river's deck, so it makes interesting. Good material for homeschoolers and of course kids that attend regular school. To bad Twain's Books aren't popular among kids nowadays.Besides the museum, you can visit sites where he lived and if you have time you can visit the cave (we ended up not visiting).

Exhibits are well done and perfect for history buffs. The hands on quality for kids is a bit understated but then, kids aren't reading Mark Twain these days, anyway.

Totally worth seeing if you have read the books and like history. Very interesting and a pretty cool to stand where Mark Twain found inspiration.

It is very good to visit the boyhood home of Mark Twain, the great American writer. I think it is good for once though.

American history is preserved and presented in a true, uncensored manner that is sensitive at the same time. This is an excellent place for children to learn about the recent past in a way that is both fun, and very educational. My grandchildren, ages 7, 10, and 13 were only slightly interested in Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn and went along with us mainly to "humor" grandpa. But once they experienced the museum, it gave them an insight and sense of how people lived in America in those times -- how the acceptance of black people as second class citizens was the norm, and yet how Tom and Huck themselves were able to discover how wrong that was. They had a great time, learned more than any school could teach them in just a couple of hours, and could not wait to get back in the car and finish the Tom Sawyer audio tape. Now they are reading Huck Finn. Well worth the few hours and cost.

Since I would just be echoing the accolades of the Mark Twain Museum given in the other reviews, I will state that all of this is possible because of exemplary staff, volunteers, contributors and donors who love this museum in this small river town of Hannibal. As a donor, I am treated right and professionally. The conduct of the director and staff members at this institution is a model of courtesy, ethics and professionalism that is emulatable for any museum.

The museum was amazing the way they preserved history within the walls of all the buildings. It is something I won't forget. It was well worth the cost to see it.

Used a buy one get one free coupon for this tour. Was very informative and cool to look at. Go on a nice day so you can walk the downtown right after visiting.

It was interesting to learn about Mark Twain and his family. Didn't have any dislikes or likes about it.

I enjoyed this. The museum had a lot of interesting facts about Twain, and the house is set up very nice. It would be better if people were dressed up and would describe the different rooms, but there are signs to help you out.

Fun to visit the home of Mark Twain. Would have liked it a little more better if it would have been a guided tour...but would still recommend.
