If you love historical homes this is a must see. Very authentic and interesting. As a group, we were also served a WONDERFUL lunch

I volunteer here and it is wonderful. Not many historical houses have over 90% of the original furnishings. It is lovely.

Beautiful old mansion with a lot of history. And beautiful antiques grounds are well maintained with parking. There is a carriage house that is a gift shop cafe .

Definitely a walk through the mid 1800's. Loved the feel and architecture. Beautiful wood displayed. Bought from their lovely boutique.

The Bingham Waggoner Estate is a beautiful home. Our Docent was quite educated on the history of the home, as well as furnishings, and former owners! Very opulent home for it's time! Not to be missed!

My brother was married in this house, it is the most beautiful house you'll ever see. It is rich in history and fun.

This place was breathtaking. Rare find for sure. Most of the finishings inside are the remnants of the original home owner as well! This type of architecture is rare locally and a must see. Don't skip the beautiful grounds in the back and the outbuildings. The home was beyond it's time when built.

Why isn't this house better known? An amazing example of High Victorian decoration with most of the original furnishings. The connection to the artist George Bingham is interesting but ultimately the least important thing about this house. Our tour guide didn't look promising but don't judge a book by its cover - he knew everything about that house down to the last nail and scrap of wallpaper. He even played the music box for us. I've been to many more famous houses where I've gotten less information.

One important reason for us to visit the Bingham-Waggoner Estate was our interest in the painter George Caleb Bingham who had owned the house for a few year. It was interesting--but I think there may be some unpredictability in the quality of the tour guides. I am grateful to all who volunteer their time and energies to interpreting historic sites, but I am aware that not all docents are created equal. The grounds are spacious and lovely. The house is jam-packed with late Victoriana: furniture, paintings, music boxes and musical instruments, old kitchen equipment and lots and lots of toys. It's challenging to grasp how the original home was enlarged into the mansion that now exists--and more clarity on the lives and social culture of the various owners would have been helpful. But the interior is fascinating with its ornate wall treatments, fine old pieces and the utterly fabulous kitchen with its walk-in ice box. One really gets a sense of what "modern" meant during America's Gilded Age.There are, however, a lot of stairs to climb and small spaces to get into. This would probably not be a great choice for visitors with physical problems or limited mobility.

Beautiful historic house with interesting features (like a walk-in refrigerator that has a door outside to the porch for the iceman to add ice without having to come inside, as well as a door to access the food from the kitchen). Outbuildings include a stable where events/dinners can be held. Once a year there is an antique fair on the grounds. Nice place to visit anytime.
