We biked the Katy trail on the last beautiful day in November from Hermann, MO. We saw the signage along the trail and decided to stop to wet our whistle. It is a beautiful setting, stunning view and the staff was very knowledgable! We did pay for tastings, which is very common, and were given a large sample. They have limited selection of food and welcome picnic baskets. Worth traveling the short distance from Hermann on the north side of the river.

We were in the area to visit wineries and the guy at the first winery we tried suggested Lost Creek Vineyard. We were so glad to take that advice because this was one of our favorite wineries of the weekend! The wines were very tasty and the gal pouring the tastings was friendly and knowledgable. And for $5.00 you get tastings and a glass to take home. I'd also recommend getting a bottle (or glass) of your favorite and sitting out on the porch to enjoy it; the view from there is beautiful and it's so peaceful there.

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review! We hope you will visit again soon on your next trip to Missouri wine country.

Like another reviewer, we found this place quite by accident, and are so glad we did! The scenery is quite open and lovely, with fresh breezes wafting through the shade trees. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine was actually very good! We also enjoyed visiting with the owner, listening to his stories about the place. Ask him about his Kit Bond American Chestnut Trees he has planted out front.

Lost Creek has been growing grapes for years but they're new at bottling their own wines. We'd heard from the owners at the B&B that the first few years the wine needed some improvement but that this year it was worth a trip. We're very glad we ventured out. The setting is beautiful, with a large, inviting wraparound porch. Yes, it cost $3 for each of us but we got to keep our glasses and return trips will be free if we bring the glasses! We liked enough of what we tried that we bought 5 bottles to take home (in addition to the case we'd gotten elsewhere the day before!) and then paid for a full glass of wine for each of us so we could relax on the porch and enjoy the view. There's food available for purchase- I remember brats were on the menu. Not extensive, but enough to make a decent meal to accompany your wine. Picnic baskets are welcome (except that all drinks must be bought from them). We'll be back on our next trip to Hermann!

We stumbled upon this vineyard/winery by accident and am I sure glad we did! We got there late in the day on Saturday and were pleased to find out they had free appetizers and music on the porch overlooking the beautiful countryside. My husband and I actually found a wine we both REALLY enjoy! We LOVED the Whistlestop White wine! Spring, an employee of Lost Creek, was a gracious host and treated us like family. I highly recommend visiting Lost Creek Vinyard!

Definitely a must visit! We found Lost Creek by accident this past Saturday and we are glad we did. Spring was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of their products. The view as we enjoyed a glass of wine was beautiful. And, I must mention that the trio of musicians that played that evening were entertaining and the free appetizers were a nice treat. Like most people, I'm sure, we found wines that we enjoyed and some we did not. However, we did fall in love with the Whistle Stop white. This is our new favorite winery in the Hermann area!!As we visited other wineries in the region we discovered that paying for samples is not uncommon. At least at the Lost Creek we could sample any and all of their wines AND keep the wine glass. I'm not sure how the previous reviewer expects a small winery to give away a pint or so of wine to every visitor and stay in business. $3 to "go around the world" and keep the glass was a deal in my opinion.Lost Creek is not on the Hermann Trail but don't miss this winery on your next visit to Hermann.

Visited the winery on a Sunday; they were cleaning up from a big wedding the day before. The person giving us the tastings was friendly, BUT, after paying $3 a person for sample tastings, all she poured was an eye-dropper of wine; not even enough to fully wet your pallet. We've visited lots of wineries, had lots of tastings, paid for some, but ALWAYS got enough sample for two "sips" (maybe 1-2 oz)....but not here! The landscaping and view was beautiful, and we did buy a couple bottles, but would not recommend paying to taste unless they up the amount of wine you get...
