national shrine of our lady of the miraculous medal

This shrine is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The grounds were just beautiful at this time of year with all of the fall foliage. The church is equally beautiful and Frank, our guide was very knowledgeable and informative, giving us background history and explaining the history of the Vincentians. The guided tour of the church is well worth your time. Be sure to visit the grotto and cemetery. The priest who gave John F. Kennedy last rites is buried in the cemetery. Also, don't miss the gift shop where there are some lovely items for purchase.
