We love to visit the farmer's market year round! Get here early for the best selections and bring large reusable shopping bags....and cash. There is an ATM at the farmer's market, but it charges a $3 fee. Great people, great produce. During the summer the kettle corn guys are there making fresh kettle corn and pork rinds. Delish!!
The produce and homemade products are very good. Get here early though when things come in season, they go fast and you may have to stand in a line. There is usually entertainment during the lunch hour.
An outstanding variety of locally grown produce, baked goods, honey, plants, spices, cheese, milk, and meat provides a shopping bonanza. Crafts and handmade items are offered on certain dates. Breakfast or lunch or take-away food, live musical entertainment, special exhibits - this market has it all.
We've visited it several times, and my gosh, this has been a great year for produce. Tomatoes, okra, eggplant, all far better than years past, and plenty of it available. I remain impressed by the quality of most of it, the variety available, and the variety of ethnic products from the central american and asian people. Tomatillas, plenty of varied peppers, so forth, along with bitter melon, half a dozen varieties of eggplant, and other asian foods. Pricing still seems problematic, though. No bulk baskets of bulk priced foods.
but far from the worst. It has many different vendors, from coffee to soaps to baked goods, and a reasonable assortment of produce, but i'm very unhappy that even early in the day there are never any decent tomatoes. The last time we went, we saw a Quart box of cucumbers for $5. This place is not a true, bargain laden farmer's market, it is a farmer's boutique with prices to match. They have a breakfast service there, and we've found local musicians playing a couple times. BTW, watch out for some of the worst drivers on the road. I'm appalled at what traffic is like in and out of that place.
We arrived a bit too late and the vendors were dismantling for the day. We have been to this market several times and have always been pleased with the quantity and quality of the produce. Yesterday I bought a homemade carrot cake (from Kay) which I found to be quite tasty.
A small farmer's market. But a great selection of produce, meats, breads, honey, jellies, et al. There is usually a blugrass band playing and it's just a nice atmosphere.
Webb City Farmers Market is a delight. There are lots of wonderful choices of produce, coffee, bread, baked goods, and crafts (periodically). Live music during summer months is a wonderful addition. Winter market is quite amazing, too. In January I was able to buy cabbage, tomatoes (greenhouse grown), cauliflower, broccoli, organic fair trade coffee, pecans - wow! It is extremely well run and accessible. I can't say enough good things about it. I wish more people from the area would take advantage of this amazing resource.
Webb City's farmers market is constantly winning awards for being a top farmers market and they really deserve it! 3 seasons of the year, 3 days a week the Webb City Farmers Market features a huge variety of in season produce + local meats, cooking demonstrations, prepared food vendors, and live music. Debit cards accepted (see market booth), all prepared food must come from a health department inspected kitchen, and all vendors have taken a class on how to bring food from field to market safely. Market open during winter with limited hours, Check the website! Dogs are allowed in non-food preparation areas (most of the market)The best variety (and biggest crowds) will be right when the market opens, but about 1.5-2 hours into market, vendors of perishable items often drop prices or will negotiate on prices.
