Being from Minnesota where the Mississippi River starts I knew of Walter Payton, Brett Favre and Jerry Rice being from your state but what a great class and State of Athletes you have on display here!To know the history of Dizzy Dean and the Jackson Mets to the great facilities at Mississippi State for baseball and football to Ole Miss and Jackson and Mississippi Valley and Delta State and ...... And .....Wow, thanks for the history lessons and the tour!

The Sports Hall of Fame was great. First we saw a 15 minute video showing Robin Roberts and her time with sports. Great exhibits, there is an Olympic exhibit showing the history of Mississippians in the Olympics. Other great exhibits, which showed the career of "Dizzy Dean" with the Cardinals. The only con about it is their gift shop, which is about to fail. The Hall of Fame is a great stop while in Jackson.

I enjoyed a self-guided tour and learned about athletes who are native Mississippians. All sports are featured which includes photos, brief bios, magazine covers, some jerseys and other gear from athletes (e.g., Brett Favre, Jerry Rice, Archie Manning). You can view a shirt movie about the museum and purchase items from the museum shop. Also, the cost is budget-friendly. This is a must-see attraction if you are a sports-enthusiast!

It's a great place for a sports fan to take their child/grandchild to share the history of MS sports. It's a very nice venue for meetings as well. If you are into sports you'll find this interesting. You can drop your sports fan off here and head down Lakeland drive to do a little shopping for yourself if sports really isn't your thing.

This museum looks nice from the outside and has a decent layout inside. While there are a number of displays, not many are all that memorable outside of the one for Dizzy Dean. It is worth a stop for fans of Mississippi sports and athletes.

I didn't particulary enjoy this museum, but people who are big fans of the particular Mississippi athletes featured here may enjoy it.

I stopped in here with local friends and enjoyed the exhibition. It was in a very nice building and the exhibits and interpretation was very well done. I didn't know that MS has such a stellar history of athletics, although I should have. I was surprised that the Mannings were not in the Hall of Fame but I was told that they would have to wait until they have finished playing in their professional career

I spent 3 hours at the Museum asking questions about Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Walter Payton and Oil Can Boyd.Sad that none of Payton's stuff is on display but they made it clear they are trying and are in process of tweaking attractions.Interested to see what kind of improvements they make in the next couple years.

Average sports museum. Not a must see. If you competed in Mississippi sports it might be of some interest.

I arrived at the museum on 3:45 PM and the place closes at 5 PM; so, I had limited time and my experience may not reflect every common one. Here is a breakdown:Good:1) Very detailed and thorough job of covering all major sports as well as some minor league and college athletes.2) Organized place and the guide provides a good summary of what to expect.Bad:1) The introduction video was quite old and seemed outdated.2) There are very limited interactive exhibits and the ones available were not working/inaccessible (Broadcast Booth and Baseball Room kiosk). The museum loses one star for this.3) Horrible service. As I mentioned earlier, I had limited time. Around 4:50 PM (10 minutes before closing), I requested the person up-front to allow me to try an activity in the 'Action Room' and this person completely ignored my request by saying I should 'try dodgeball' on the LightSpace Playfloor. The museum loses one star for this.Overall, I think the museum does a good job of gathering and presenting information along with memorabilia. However, if you don't like to read or are having an day where you prefer not to read, this place will be torture. I would rate this place 4 out of 5, but due to the reasons listed above it deserves an 2. I would think twice before going here.

I love sports and grew up playing all kinds of sports. Yes, this place has some interesting members and their belongings, but I was truly disappointed by the lack of representation of women sports & athletes. That was the biggest disappointment.

This was my first visit to the Miss. Sports Hall of Fame. It is very well done and very reasonable in price. It shares the same parking lot with the Agricultural Museum and parking is free. It probably would help if you were from Mississippi, but you would be surprised how many names you would know from all sorts of sports. They add to it each year as they induct new members.

Gives visitors info on state greats that out of staters might know about. Naturally loved Mississippi State section.

Well thought out highlighting Mississippi stars. The over all theme is about the contributions made by theses homespun persons. The subject matter is well represented for all sports with exciting updates I would like to see more local persons who contributed much more to their individual communities. (big fish in small ponds) They are the ones who will keep the excitement in the communities and the dollars. Most pro athelets leave these small ponds an forget about the people that made them. This is reason for my request to focus on this matter. Over all good little museum experience for us we were in Jackson visiting family and had a couple of hours before a fight home and it was down the street from the airport.

Loved the 12 minute movie. Enjoyed visiting the museum, my husband informed me on a lot of the sports inductees. Actually, I recognized several of the names from several of the collegiate buildings, for example, Tad Smith Coliseum on Ole Miss Campus and Bonner Arnold Coliseum on Northeast Mississippi Community College Campus. I enjoyed the museum. The staff had set up the locker room for a birthday party.....what a fun idea!
