Easy to get to from CT15 or I-95. there's soo much here, it would be foolish NOT to see what The Discovery Museum has. Plenty of parking and people here are wonderful too!
This place is way cool! If you've ever thought about ropes courses and zip lines--but were worried about safety--think no more! This place is very safe-- with state of the art, do it yourself safety gear that you can't screw up. They make it simple and safe for your entire family to spend time above the ground exploring the trees and traversing cables and ladders and zip lines, oh my! There are several difficulty levels available for every age and ability based on alpine skiing trail symbols--green circles for easy routs, blue squares for the more adventurous and higher above the ground, and black diamonds for more strenuous, precarious and tree-top adventure. The staff is vigilant, experienced and friendly. Each is very ready to jump into action to help a visitor in need and to ensure the safety of every person. This is a must-do adventure if you are in the area. It's a bit pricey-- I imagine due to insurance costs but well worth a couple of visits each year. They do have group and event programs.Family members not participating can wander the trails under the trees to watch the action without cost. They do promote "Date Nights" for couples and it's certainly the right place for adults to have fun as well.I've attended with my kids, as a Cub Scout leader and plan to attend with my girlfriend. We're both over 50, so get off your butts and get out there with us!
Okay, so this was my second time here. First time was with a friend, her 8 and 10 year old boys and their buddies - I had a blast. This time I came with two "girl"friends (and I use that term loosely because we are all clearly beyond girlhood) and had equally as much fun. This middle-aged body (albeit in reasonably good physical condition) suffered a bit of aching the following day, but it was worth every ouch. To me, this is hands down the most fun and challenging adventure experience that anyone could find locally. Don't worry if you're not in tip-top shape … the trails are graduated (and marked) according to difficulty, so anyone can do as little or as much as they want. Hey - if I can do it, so can you! Give it a try. It's FUN! (And staff is always readily available should you feel that you cannot continue on or get "stuck" in any way. They are wonderful!)
I was initially skeptical about an outdoor adventure park in Bridgeport CT but that vanished as soon as we arrived. The park, located next to the discovery museum, take climbers through various climbing routes through the trees. The routes vary from easy and low to the ground, to very high and challenging. Our children and guests had a great time. The staff were professional and helpful. We would recommend this our friends. If you don't like heights, or scrambling around, look for something tamer. If how ever your inner Tom Sawyer, needs and adventure, head over. You will be glad you did.
I had a great experience here today. Very interesting courses, but it is a hassle to change the hooks between obstacles. The courses and harnesses are specially designed to make sure you don't fall off the obstacles should you slip. There are 6 different course types, ranging from easy to hard. They are: purple (easiest), yellow, green, blue, black diamond, and double black diamond (hardest). The staff was great, and helped me when I cut my finger after the end zipline on one of the "yellow" courses. Overall, a wonderful experience. NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU'RE SCARED OF HEIGHTS.
I have arranged and taken care of dozens of trips over the past few years I have to say that this was the best yet you guys are amazing from before we came the emais back and forth the quick responses I was able to tell we were in good hands... but when we came I was blown away. .. every staff member was just so nice and patience ... besides the actual trip climbing etc. Being amazing thriller challenging fun etc. ...letting use the fire place for roasting and moreOne specific thing was when you guys took all our stuff that we needed for supper off the bus that was just too much for me... keep yp the amaizing job tou guys do and have lots of luck in all ...
I knew this was a place I had to go. Never have gone on a rope course, and being skeptical of how safe they are, I was hesitant to say the least. This place eased all my fears. I have an 8 and 12 year old, so my little ones run my life, and they were ready to do this, but my concern was safety and when doing this place...,safety was first. They do a great job, from instructors to photographer , to sales people. Great time...got to do three courses, but when we go again, think we can do 4 ....it's a workout. A ton of gun....high praise
As grandparents, we followed along below as our granddaughters, 9 and 12, took to the trees on all types of obstacle courses made with cables, wood, ropes between trees. They had to used clips attached to their harnesses and gloves which took some work along with the balance and maneuvering. Watching them accomplish so much and zoom on zip lines was a joy. We loved it as much as they did.
My daughter wanted to do the Adventure Park on her last night before starting college...On a whim my husband and I said yes (?)! I was definitely filled with anxiety as I am not coordinated and only mildly athletic. When we arrived the staff could not have been more friendly. They harnessed us up, gave a safely lesson about the cables, hooks and tweelzes (not to be confused with Dweezles!) and they started us off. I was afraid to even climb the steps to the main platform! We chose the easiest trail, a yellow one whose name I forget, and off we went. My husband, who did not want to go at all, was the first on each challenge. i was literally shaking after the first zip line and scared! But after getting the hang of the hooks and how to place them, etc. and really just taking our time and concentrating, we did each obstacle on the course. Took us a while for all three of us to get through it (so glad it wasn't busy) but we did it! And what a feeling of accomplishment! We didn't have to yell "STAFF!" once! LOL - We are definitely planning to go back and do the park again. Now we know what to expect and we can't wait! What a treasure right in our back yard!!!
This place was a great day for family or friends. More zip lines than you know what to do with. Different difficulty levels are clearly marked and staff is plentiful and helpful and safety oriented. Someone clearly put a lot of time and effort into this adventure park. Fun for all ages and I can't wait to return and zoom thru the trees during the fall foliage! :)
We had heard how great this was, and finally tried it! Totally awesome experience !! I felt so overwhelmed by instruction and nerves were present, but when you get the clipping in and out part and give it all you got, it is fun!! A challenge indeed but so worth it! As a family we can't wait to go back!! Only reason why it's not a five star for my review is our instructor was confusing all of us and would get off subject. It's easier to be involved in the instruction like you have to do at the end of it. All the employees were very friendly and helpful . I would recommend this place!! A fun time to remember !!
Th is is one of the best ways to find out what you are made of. You can start off easy and work your way up to the hardest. The experience will fill you with excitement. Your body will not know that it can do what you ask. But it will all come together. We can't wait to go back!!!!! Go early in case there are big groups.
We (two families) booked a group event for a joint birthday adventure for our two ten-year-olds. We were 4 adults and 11 kids ages 7-59. After our safety orientation, I was afraid we'd bitten off more than we could chew. However, the leveled courses and central layout are well conceived, executed and marked, like a good family ski mountain. There is a pretty steep learning curve with the harness clips and locks, but the kids were motivated to master them. Within a half hour, the adults could barely keep up with even the youngest. I had pre-assigned mini teams which quickly fell apart and resorted themselves more naturally. The older, more adventurous kids struck out on their own, while the adults climbed and zipped with the younger and more conservative kids. We had pizzas delivered, which was a godsend. Everyone was starving by the end and the food kept them occupied for the good 40 minutes it took for everyone to complete their courses and regather. My daughter said it was the best birthday ever!
We have been looking for quite a while for a zip line that we can do with our kids and most places refuse to take younger children. This place takes kids from the age of 5, and our 7&9 year old girls were ecstatic !This is place has lots of courses and pathways set up according to difficulty level and hight from the ground, they have a great safety system that forces everyone to be secure all the time. You buy 3 hours of climbing on top of that 20 min of training and you are off on your own to explore and climb and zip and what not.No doubt worth the money, and a great experience for our daughters.2 thumbs up!
13 and 16 year old teens had a great time here. Nice area in the center where I could sit (I brought a lawn chair) and read. Friendly staff. Do a little or a lot, depending on your interest level. Only complaint is the price, which is a bit steep. Go as early as you can, to avoid a long wait.
