I would definitely recommend visiting. It's a hidden treasure, not the type of beauty you'd expect in Granby, CT! There's a handful of waterfalls that cascade down like stairs... A little walk- waterfall- a little walk- waterfallThe only thing is I wish the visitors would be more respectful. There's no graffiti or anything but strewn around are old socks and beer cans. Whenever I go I make sure to pick up after myself and others.Overall it's great! I'm not reviewing this like a business (because it's not) so theres things out of everyone's control like mosquitoes and dangerous cliffs that I'm not complaining about.
This was a very nice little nature walk on a nice day. From the parking lot it is a three minute walk to the first waterfall then you continue on down to see all six. This time of year a few of them weren't very big but still beautiful just the same.
For years my friend and I have been on the quest for the perfect little hiking spot a short distance from home for those hot summer days when you just want to be outside. Who knew that just 20 mins from us was this little heaven on earth spot?! A quick, short walk from the parking area and low and behold waterfalls! Multiple ones! With multiple swimming spots! Perfect for couples, families, friends or solo this spot has everything you're looking for for the summer. Great photo ops, swimming holes, places to jump, dog friendly, hiking, and we even saw a couple panning for gold, or fossils. Get there before 11 am if you want it more to yourself.
Natural waterfalls, great hiking trails, shade and sun to relax and have a picnic! Be careful people have been seriously injured being dumb and jumping from waterfalls without knowing the depth or safety of water below. If youre going to swim, do it from the bottom.
A short walk from the parking area will take you to a stream with several waterfalls of differing types and heights as you make your way down stream. Beautiful photo opps. Peaceful and relaxing when you are lucky enough to be alone. Weekends are busy, but falls are still pretty. Look is quite different at different times of year depending on flow in stream, ice formations, fall foliage, etc. When you get close to the stream, the path is a little steep and slippery, but there are plenty of safe access ways.
