shaw mansion - new london historical society

We traveled there, found no parking spaces, and the place closed. Sign said they were open in the pm, and we could call for an appt with the historian. We did, and left a message, but no one called us back. Very disappointed. We had to leave the next day.

The Shaw Mansion is one of the oldest historical buildings in Connecticut - pre-revolutionary.It is also the home of the New London Historical Society.The mansion has a number of restored and preserved rooms - with furnishings, paintings, housewares and other historical items.It also houses other historical items and artifacts related to New London.There is a very interesting history of the house, family and area.You can get a very nice personal tour when it is open.
