It's a beautiful park where you can bring your dog and have a nice hiking day. It has a camping and picnic area, plus sanitary services.

I have camped at Black Rock State Park twice. In 2013 we stayed in a tent and 2014 one of the lovely cabins. The park is lovely. There are little trails around the lake that are very peaceful. Across from the park entrance there are longer hiking trails. We happened to go to Leatherman's Cave which is .4 miles up the road. The directions were available in the park's office but written poorly. The hike brought us hours and miles uphill through rocks, narrow paths, etc., until the actual trail was noticed. Once we arrived at Leatherman's Cave the scenery was breathtaking and very worth it. Unfortunately, the hike back brought us to the highway so we had to hike around the mountain for a couple hours to find our way back to the car. I would recommend this memorable cave to everyone, except bring lots of water, good hiking shoes, and a few snacks with anticipation of a 4-6 hour adventure. The park is beautiful but the park's visitors are a different story. For the second year in a row, we experienced excessively load rap music blasting from multiple cars that were running for hours. This is an unwanted distraction which made us frustrated. When I think of camping I think of respectful kids riding their bikes, people grilling, hiking around, maybe a radio with the volume on a normal volume, and people simply enjoying the scenery. There are many kids, aged 7-16 that are not supervised that ride their bikes screaming and swearing through the roads from morning to night. They hang out in and around the bathrooms waiting for their phones to charge, watch you brush your teeth, hang outside your bathroom stall, and flush the toilets 20-30 times as you try to take a shower. Many of them were discussing the noise violations and alcohol violations that resulted in some heavy duty fines. The next night was louder which resulted in the forest ranger and a state cop car to come back again to tell them to quiet themselves. As soon as the ranger leaves, the other end of the campground starts their loud music, fireworks, and kid screaming activities. The female bathrooms are busy with people hoarding outside the door complaining about bugs, charging their iphones, laying out curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers all over the sinks. The bathrooms are seriously trashed and showers are left in unhygienic condition by these ladies. Between the hours of 8pm to midnight there is an average of 4-8 people staring at all those who go to the bathroom for its intended purpose. Also, there are teenage boys that hang around and come into the entrance of the female bathroom because they are high as a kite with their Spanish families. I explained how these boys should not be in the female bathroom, especially at night, which I was told to go f(*$& myself by the potential mothers or aunts. I find this ghetto attitude uncalled for. I am not too easily rattled by people being a younger female, but I do find that a lot of the other campers are not respectful towards each other.I really expected a relaxing camping trip but my hopes were shattered. The park is so lovely, but left trashed each morning because the campers do not have true appreciation for nature. The beach is left littered as well as the trails. Kids are unsupervised left to cause trouble. Tweens will walk all over your plot and cabin area because they do not care that it is your rented space. There is always a music competition to see who has the loudest bass coming from their car.I am not planning on returning to the park due to the other campers. I prefer a quieter place, filled with nice bonfires, grilling, and people who are not running around disrespecting everything and everyone that is paying for a quiet time in the woods. I was here twice and both times I experienced a beautiful park filled with a ghetto vibe.
