Very clean, very nice building but in a housing community. Great tasting sweeter wines, not much on their dry wines. Their bottles are overpriced.
For a newer winery they know what there doing. Good food. Excellent wine. And a beautiful area to just enjoy a glass outside. Planning on getting back there as soon as we can. Couldn't stay away if I tried. And the best portix I've ever had is there's.
We visited this winery on our way down I-81 to sample and purchase some wine. The wine tasting is $5 and you can sample 8 wines, all of which are lovely and very interesting. It would be hard to find something just like it in a store. There are places to sit and relax outside. Highly recommended if you have a couple hours to spend.
Often, at this winery, there are 'special events' which you can choose to participate in or not if you visit during one of them. Yesterday was 'sausages around the world', which was pretty neat! Regularly, the weekend evenings in summer/fall, have live music and if the weather is nice, there's a lovely patio to enjoy. Don't let the location fool you; if you are just visiting for the first time, yes, it is a winery in a neighborhood; kinda cool. There are lovely tables and chairs in the space, and they have recently changed the seating to permit more guests in the space, as the popularity of both the wine & the venue has grown. The wine choices are growing, and my favorite since they opened is AD. If you have children, there is a lovely light menu, occasionally offered and root beer, so they can enjoy the music/space as well!
Ric Obiso is a very creative winemaker and he creates some of the most complex wines that I have had the pleasure to taste in Virginia. This is also a cigar friendly winery with a separate seating area for cigar smokers, a nice selection of cigars and a wine and cigar pairing menu. I should know, I do their cigars :-). Tasting fees are reasonable and I highly recommend the Select Tasting - the Aviator is one of my favorites!
This is a very nice winery and a friendly atmosphere. A good place to visit if you are in Radford, VA, or that area. It is also right off of Interstate 81, very convenient location! All the wines are good in my opinion. They have wonderful cheese dishes to order. You can sit inside or outside, and they are open year around.
We spent a couple of hours in the spacious tasting room, had a great afternoon snack of cheeses and olives. The wines, though not what we usually drink, were good and interesting. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Visiting this winery for an afternoon is something that you will not regret! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the prices for wine tasting and food are very reasonable. We did the regular tasting as well as added the reserve wines. All of the wines had distinct flavors and some were like nothing I had ever tasted. They offer wines of all types and everyone is sure to find something they will love. I recommend trying "Blaze" if it is available as it was delicious and unique! A great experience is you are in the area!
If you are looking for a low-key, fun way to spend an afternoon- this should be your choice! The wine is consistently good and there is something for everyone- dry, sweet, white, red, and rose! All of the staff are friendly and inviting and make the atmosphere more like an old friend's house than a business. Also check out the special events-it can be a little pricey but the food is good and you get a lot for the money. I recommend the homemade hummus or guacamole, and a glass of Sonnet 98, Deep Silence or Firefly Dance. Cheers!

We've visited about 25 wineries in VA so far, and I would have to say this is our new favorite. The grounds are nice, and the tasting building is awesome. More like a restaurant, and they do sell some food and have a little kitchen. The tasting room is actually more like a dining area and they let you sit at a table and bring the wine tastings to you. Novel idea. We really liked all of the wines we tasted, and they had a very good variety. The staff who helped us was very friendly. They also have tables on a patio area, so I'm sure this would also be a cool place in the summer time. It's just too bad that we're from Richmond and it's almost 4 hours away!
The wine is hit and miss-with their award winners seemingly always sold out. Food is also hit and miss, some great, some inedible. Atmosphere inside the tasting room is odd....can't decide if they want to be the cool wine spot or country flea market.
We had Valentine lunch at Attimo Winery, the food was very good and very fairly priced. We did the wine tasting and liked the way they brought the different wines to your table.
The wines at this place are great - especially the reds. The food they offer is tasty too! Service is nice and you can do a tasting while sitting at your own table, instead of having to stand the entire time. Nice place!
Have been to the winery several times for tastings, a glass of wine and a light lunch. That you can sit at a table for a tasting is very relaxing as opposed the feeding trough style of most tastings. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Wines are quite good and reasonably priced. Food enjoyable. Well worth a visit.
