Robious Landing is next door to my subdivision, so I can walk there. It is situated on the historical James River. Local high schools have rowing regattas and house their boats there. It's a very scenic spot with great walking trails.
Our family enjoyed a couple of hours fishing from the shore line of the James River and had fun on the play ground. Nice quiet park.
I have used this Park several times for water access to put my Canoe in. The Park looks clean and well kept. There are walking trails along the river, but I have not walked them. Putting in a Canoe or Kayak is a bit of work, there is a slide built on the stairway to lower and pull up the vessel and needs to be done by hand on a steep slope. I would recommend paddle sports during weekdays, since the river has power boating access as well. This get a rough out on the water with Jet skis and Motorboats running up and down the river.
This is a very nice park for a quiet stroll with the family. There are lots of paths that offer an opportunity for some learning and adventures with the young ones. It also has a playground area that is usually fairly quiet and offers some fairly atypical apparatuses. 5 dots just for the scenic river vista, everything else is a bonus.
This park is a treasure. We live in the area so we are here at least three times a week walking our dog. First of all, there is plenty of parking lots in two different areas. The park is located right on the James River in Midlothian near James River High School. There is fishing docks and access for canoes, rafts, and paddle boards. Playgrounds for kids is located in the second parking area. There are numerous trails including a circle hike a little over a mile long. It's perfect for kids as well as adults. You just can't get lost. Rest rooms, picnic areas and shelters are also available for family events. You can even bike on the trails but watch out for the walkers. Crew teams also practice from this park.
found this beautiful park in Chesterfield paper and have been trying to WALK all the local parks, loved that most of this you can walk alot by the water; beautiful views then in the forest
If you go VERY early in the AM you can watch the James River Crew team practice- think Boston and the crew racers there, but without all the city hassle.I go kayaking and walk the dog out there on the trails. Joggers love this place. the woodland trails are well marked and several swing by the river and lots of streams. Beautiful place, peaceful_ benches are along the river for sitting.Kayak launch and floating docks are there too. Picnic tables with simple grills and ample parking. come out and enjoy!
It's a great place to take little kids to climb and slide. It is in a safe place and a wooded atmosphere.
This park is buried behind an upscale housing development on the James River. At this point on the river, the water is fairly flat and calm with no obstructions. There is a boathouse at the park with numerous scull boats hanging on racks. There is also a very long dock on the river used to launch the scull boats. There were several marked walking trails of varying distances starting at the parking lot and following the river. There was also a children's playground and picnic benches. Oddly, there was also a pay phone at the entrance to the park. I didn't think there were any of these left in existence anywhere. Worth the trip just to see one in the wild, and in fact when we were there, a mother was showing it to her children. The park is very nice and is an oasis along the river.
This is not an active park (with the exception of walking paths) unless you are local and like to row. This park gives one of the few views of 1500 meters of open water on the James River. It is perfect for rowing regattas.
I've been here a few times to run as well as to walk and enjoy the trails. It's very peaceful with the river as a backdrop and you can get a great workout if you like trail running!
