A pumpkin patch that charges for the hayride. I would have thought that would never happen. Have been to many pumpkin patches all over the state of Virginia; but this is the only one we've ever encountered where you pay for the ride to get to pumpkins you're going to purchase. We all felt lied to by the write ups we read and their website. They say that admission is free and you only pay a small amount for some of the activities. WRONG!! They have a very hefty charge for all of the real, worthwhile activities--again, even the HAYRIDE!! It's not even a nice atmosphere. We've been to so many much cheaper or free where the surroundings are much nicer and YES, as another review says, they are very RUDE!! We drove a very long way to get there and ended up incredibly disappointed in every way. Also, in this day of there being very nice, flushable port-a-potties and portable sinks; they only have the old fashioned cheap, filthy potties and NO sinks!

My family of four went for the pumpkin events on a beautiful autumn day. First- very pricey- $9 per person was the cheapest package we were offered, included a pumpkin and assorted typical activities- hay ride, pig races, sandpile for toddlers, a corn maze and a few farm animals. One of the most irritating points was the slow and at times non existent internet connection to process credit cards. We waited 10 minutes for our card to be approved to buy tickets. The lines for food were equally long, for the same reason. We got very stale hot dog buns and cold hot dogs but we were too hungry to argue. The hay ride was fine and the fields held a few green unripe pumpkins. These were being supplemented by pumpkins being rapidly "planted" in the fields fresh from a large produce truck. I felt like Linus- there was no Great Pumpkin after all. However, I was comparing it to pumpkin picking when I was a child. All of the children seemed quite excited with their pumpkin selections.

Drove 40 minutes to find out that they aren't open daily at 9am- they were rude and we will never go back! Don't waste your time! !!!

We have lived here for 12 years and the berry farm used to be our favorite place to go. No more. We tried it again this past berry season after saying last fall that we wouldn't go again. Well, $45 and two hours of listening to other people's kids screaming, we left with a basket of small strawberries. I could have gotten better at the grocery store for less and had a better experience.

I feel like it isn't really spring, if I don't get some Chesterfield Berry Farm strawberries! I have gone there for many years, and picked, and have also purchased their "fresh picked" berries, as well, when I just can't get over there with my schedule when the berries are in season. Always a fun place to go to pick your own, to have a fun day in the spring, and to get some delicious LOCAL berries!

I used to go and pick strawberries and cook a hot dog, now it is too commercialized adn expensive for me- not a good deal any more- why did the Goode's get so greedy ??????

We've taken our kids here every fall since they were babies. If you just want to pick pumpkins, this is not the place for you. However, if you have small children they have a lot of fun activities such as the shelled corn pit, barrel train ride, duck races, pig races, and of course pumpkins. I've always felt that I've gotten my money's worth. They have food for sale but you are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch. The pumpkin milkshakes are delicious. Just watch the bees - both of my kids have been stung once there.

We took our kids here last year to get pumpkins. They have a pretty good setup, it wasn't crowded at all. Some of the stuff seems a little hokey, but my three year old loved it.

I have made it a point to get to this farm at least once a year -- their strawberries have always been the best. Missed going this year but I look forward to going next Spring.

Chesterfield Berry Farm is a fun but expensive experience. We have always went to pick our own pumpkins wherever we lived but at Chesterfield Berry Farm they have built it up and charge a small fortune just to get in the gate.If you don't mind shelling out the cash, they have a lot to offer during their Fall exhibit. Personally, I have looked elsewhere to select our pumpkins.

Entertaining lots to see and do for the kids and I really enjoyed picking the strawberries.

Enjoyed going there for trees. The kids remember it as one of the best outings of their childhood.

Great time for kids and adults of all ages, especially during the fall and spring/summer seasons. You can pick strawberrries in the fields after riding in a hay tractor (that's fun)! They have a corn maze in the fall, and pumpkin picking. Always a great time at the berry farm

I go to Chesterfield Berry Farm to pick fresh strawberries and then again in the fall to pick pumpkins! My son is 2yrs old and just loves to go! His father and I used to go together even before we had him. . . we enjoyed the farm so much :-)

Great fresh and local meats and produce! Perfect to drop in on and grab a few things for the yard too! Hang baskets heaven!
