Someone should tell visitors about the $29.50 fee to use the (Norfolk) Elizabeth River tunnel. We were not aware of the fees until we got an invoice for $29.50 over 2 months later. After going to Norfolk for a Christmas visit we get this invoice, tried to call the number, but no answer. This is unfair as there are no toll booths & no way to know about the fees. Beware of this rip off.
Nice in formation center with knowledgeable attendants and nicely stocked with attractions and brochures.
We got lots if info and insight to the area that even our sailor that has lived here for years did not know. Very worth stopping by!
Go place to get local information. If you really want to have fun, while driving and traveling around Norfolk look for the iconic Norfolk mermaid statues in the city. They are everywhere including in Malls, Nursing Homes, and on top of buildings. Can you find em all?
very helpful and friendly staff, you can pick up loads of printed material and good advice from the staff, parking nearby may be a problem
This was a great place to go to get information on the city of Norfolk and all of its attractions. It will be closing soon so people will have to come to the Convention and Visitors Bureau main office which is located on East Main Street in downtown Norfolk (across the street from the Marriott Waterside. In there you will find all the information you need to maximize your stay in this great city.
Good point to start to learn about the area and a starting point for deciding what to do and where to spend your time. The choices are many.
The storefront of the Visitor Information Bureau has a great deal of information available with experts manning the desk.
