Some of the guys that went on the trip heard the reviews on here and were skeptical about what we were getting into but, as the web site showed the lodging was better than expected,we all had hogs with in range and the weather was great. We all took to Walter and his hospitality and thank you for the crawfish boil. We are currently planning our next trip down to M Y Ranch.

We had a group of 8 people travel to the ranch for a hog hunt. We were met by the ranch owner Walter. Walter said he had a family event to attend and asked for payment at that time. He stated he would be back after the event, but never returned. At this time he gave us maps of the ranch and had his help show us the ranch. They never mentioned that one of the feeders was not stocked at this time, but would have been helpful. So after our meeting the owner and putting our belongings in the camp we headed out to sit in the stands (it might have been hunting if the ranch contained any hogs). The TX weather was a nice change compared to Ohio weather so seeing no hogs the first day didn't bother me much. The second morning our party investigated the ranch by foot and vehicle and discovered that there was no sign or very little sign of hogs on the property. Certainly no enough sign to even charge for hog hunting. If the owner would have come back to camp we certainly would have discussed it with him, but he was not where to be found. We did see many deer on the property.On the third day we were offered some hogs that were in a cage for meat. I believe the owner did this because he knows there are no hogs on the property, but the lure of money is to much for him. To make a longer story shorter, do not waste your hard earned money at My-Ranch. There are no hogs there and it would be a waste of time and money to go there for a hog hunt.

Walter is a crook!!! You will see him to pay him then he leaves his hired help to fend for themselves. We hunted hard. We sat in the blinds and one guy saw one hog. We walked the whole property and did not jump a hog. The deer are very plentiful. When the feeders go off the herds of deer descend on the feeder and clean up every last kernel, No hog sign at the feeders. I think our money was to supplement his deer feeding program. Walter had to leave to go to his sons bachelor party and would return Sunday, we never saw him again. According to his help this is a common thing for him to disappear after he gets his money. He conveniently had pigs he captured in a pen you could shoot for free for meat if you wanted one. This is a common practice according to sources close to the place. You do not see hogs, so they try to soothe things over that way. If I wanted that I would order one from the local slaughterhouse and save myself the 17 hour drive. And it would cost a lot less.He had feeders that were not filled and we weren't told about it till the second day. He has no pictures on his website for a reason. The pictures he showed us were from Dec. Only one stand had a camera on it, and i am not sure if the pics came from that stand.The hired hand was not surprised when we told him that we had not seen a thing. Shortly there after Walter called our ring leader and told him the stands that were "active". We sat in them till late at night and not the first hog came to the feeders. I sat in a stand that supposedly had a herd of at least 10 hogs hitting it every night. I looked all around it the next day and not the first pig track, and no signs of rooting or anything else.Walter runs a very shady operation and is in general just a liar and a crook why else would he take the money and run. He did not offer to refund us our money, or a free hunt, or anything. Take your pen hog and be happy. We should have been suspicious when he wanted his money as soon as we got there cause he had to go. Next time we will all do a better job of vetting where we go hunting. I guarantee that Walter will never get another penny from our group of 8.

11 of us scheduled a weekend hog hunt at MY-Ranch. After the scheduling, one of the party read the bad reviews that are posted here and we became very nervous that we had wasted our money. We arrived skeptical, but found the lodging as described and promptly headed out to the stands. The first night a total of 6 hogs were taken, one exceeding 200#. Walter had his people skin and cut up our hogs and we never had to touch the dirty things. We also took advantage of the multiple skeet/trap shooting lanes and target range. I think everyone in our group had a great time. We are considering scheduling a return trip.

I want to advise all other hunters or would be hunters to AVOID MY Ranch in Crockett, Texas. The owner’s (Walter’s) website shows numerous photos of hogs (day and night) and harvested hogs. In reality as of 10/20/12 there are little to no hogs on his 1300 acres. Our group of 7 hunters covered the majority of his location on foot and in vehicles for three days. We stayed out till midnight each night and up again at 6 am in order to ensure we didn’t miss them. After the first day we realized that at his 13 feeders there was still corn on the ground, no rutting, and no hog tracks. We abandoned our attempts at using the blinds and then walked the woods and fields trying to find hogs. In three days we observed tracks (some old some newer) for maybe 4-10 hogs on all 1,300 acres. The property is very scenic and covered with deer that he won’t let you hunt. The accomodations are nice. BUT I would have rather slept in a tent and not showered for three days if it meant taking a hog home.After reviewing other reviews (while bored in my tree stand) I read numerous negative reviews of his business. It would appear for the last few years there have been few hogs to be found at his location. His website obviously misleads the hunter to believe that there are hogs when there are little to no hogs there. We all went home feeling mislead and with 7 empty coolers…..lesson learned. You will pay for the privelege to hunt on his property....but to hunt there has to be something to be hunted...if not your are just walking around with a gun and an empty pocket book...like Hansel and Grettle. You will see Walter on the first day when he collects his money after that he is a ghost (probable to avoid his clients after day 1 because thats when they realize they have been scammed). DO NOT HUNT this property.

The M.Y. Ranch website is very misleading. It shows pictures of hogs galore but in reality the Hogs do not exist. I spent 3 days hunting this ranch and never observed one hog. The ranch is covered up in deer but no hogs. This trip cost roughly $3,000 bucks for our group, not one pig was taken! Please do some research before spending money. We saw Walter ( the ranch owner) the first day then he vanished. We never saw him again. I can only assume he knew we would be very upset. I hope Walter enjoys the money he gets for scamming people.

I gave a $700 deposit a march 16-18 2012 hunt and had a death in the family and could not make hunt nor reschedule. I told Walter of this a month in advance and he said there would be no problem getting someone to fill my slot and would refund my money. Haven't seen a penny. Hope it is worth it Walter and hope you burn in hell. I had no Idea there where so many angry people until I found this site to write a review about you. Hope you don't get any more suckers at your place. What a waste of human debris you are.

Walter, I just needed to write and express my disbelief that you advertize a "quality hog hunt", that is essentially absent any real hog population. Your ranch is lovely and the set up ideal. That all said, I have hunted feral hogs for 30 years in Texas and never observed so little hog sign and with 9 guns hitting the feeders until 9:30 at night 3 days, and hardly a sighting of hogs. I personally never saw even a track in the wet ground. I did observe the rooting below #2 and #7 other wise your fields were pristine and undisturbed by traditional Texas hog populations. The daffodils were up and blooming. My experience with foraging feral hogs, the perennial bulbs would not have a chance to bloom before they were rooted and eaten. Either you have over hunted them or a alien space craft has beamed them all up to the mother ship. I rode the Razr over all your ranch before coming to these conclusions.Our group would have been an annual reservation for you had we not all come home with empty coolers. A nice mobile home and hot water at the end of the day for serious pig hunters is not enough. You might consider suspending hunts until your population rebounds.This was my 1st hunt in 30yrs I did not see a pig on a ranch advertizing feral hog hunts.D. I had a great time exploring the ranch and saw plenty of deer but only saw one batch of hogs on the smaller size.

We went in there the last days of February with high hopes only to realize that the place has been over hunted.Walter the owner,was okay, a week or two before we arrived (group of 7) he kept asking if we were still coming. Odd thing was, he gets his jeans dry cleaned, as in, "not hurting for funds"! We did get a dissertation on investing from Walter but still no hogs.Accommodations were good, but the hunting day or night was poor.I had night vision and a laser designator to work with but if there's no hogs that equipment is useless.This isn't sour grapes, just a warning to anyone considering hunting hogs there.

8 of us hunted half a day on 3-1-2011 and were steaming mad after scouring the 1300 acres and seeing few signs of any hog existence. If anything, there is an over abundance of deer. Approx. 13 feeders and stands are placed throughout the property. The corn below the feeders appeared to be accumulating and untouched, leading us to believe this guy activates his feeders prior to the arrival of the booked reservations. Obviously to save his supply of corn, which ultimately does not attract the desired game. I do believe there are hogs in the area from what little signs we saw, but they are few and far between. Locals in the area, from Dallas to Crocket, say that there are not that many hogs around Crockett and east Texas. They also are amazed this guy is making money on something that is rarely seen. We ended up leaving mid-day on day 1, skipping day 2, and found a place north of Dallas that had more hogs than this guy at M.Y. Ranch. If there is anything positive to say about this place it would be that the property is very attractive and the lodging was very adequate for 8 people. The lodge is a mobile home and what you would expect for a hunting lodge. It's obviously not the Ritz-Carlton. Even though the property and lodging are a positive, don't let this be a deciding factor to visit this poor exuse of a hog hunting ground.

If you're looking for a hog hunt in Texas, I don't recommend hunting at My Ranch in Crockett, TX. The 1300 acres are mostly mowed fields, so the property has very little cover to actually hold hogs. Any hogs on this property are just passing through and may stop at a feeder at night. The lodging is comfortable and the price is very appealing, however your chance of actually shooting a hog are slim to none.I saw the negative reviews on this place and thought, it was a one off bad experience, however our hunt was exactly as described by others.I would recommend going to west Texas the only problem is that you will pay more for the hunting experience - I guess you get what you pay for.

Eight of us paid to hog hunt this property. Between all of us we saw one hog. After scouring the property only saw one spot that even looked like a hog or two were entering the property. This was the area where the one was seen. He has feeders and bait out, so one would expect to see plenty of hogs, or at least sign around, but nothing. No tracks. No Wallows. No rooting. Even a neighbor commented about his charging for hog hunts, that no one else around there does, probably because there aren't enough of them. Lots of very tame deer. They come to the feeders 15 minutes early to get their fill. The cougar bounty? Nobody has ever even seen a cougar there either. There are a lot of nice pictures, apparently from the 1980's though. Lodging was nice.

I took a company group to hunt for 4 days at M.Y. Ranch Hunting Preserve. This was a group of 8 to Quail, Pheasant and Chukar hunt. The group also hunted for whitetail buck deer and wild hogs while we were there. Everyone wants to go back. My company will taking more guest. They have an excellent atmosphere.
