A great planetarium located on the campus of ASU. Lots of theatre style seating. Video programs are always informative. The viewing of the night sky is very, very realistic.

I have been visiting the Angelo State University Planetarium since grade school and have always found it an interesting adventure. Shows vary from month to month and may discuss anything from Super Volcanoes on our very own Planet Earth to dusty star clouds eons beyond our reach. Great for young scholars and adults alike!

The ASU Planetarium is a unique, inexpensive opportunity/experience for the entire family.Located at Angelo State Univeristy on Rosemont Ave; this exhibit is presented on Thursday evenings. There are two separate showings of a pre-recorded educational piece on astronomy set to a movie type setting and projected on a 360• view screen. The first showing is around 6:30 pm; each lasting about 1 hour. The planetarium is clean, and a well presented eduacational activity fun for all ages. There are students who will answer questions following the show, and then take audience members of those who are interested in looking thru a high powered telescope outdoors. The presentations are changed on a monthly rotating schedule.Approxmately $10-$12 for a family of four, depending on ages, there is a student and a senior discount.

Not many people realize that the planetarium is open to the public of an evening on Thursday and Friday while college is in session. My Kiddos LOVE to go star gazing indoors on cold evenings. Just take a seat, lean back, and enjoy the show/lesson. There is a small fee of 3 or 4 dollars per adult, but there are no crowds of noisy people, just those with an interest of the heavens above.

My grandchildren came to visit and we went to a show at the Planetarium and they loved it. It was a learning experience as well.My daughter and I enjoyed it as well and we will go back!

We went to the ASU Planetarium in March of this year and saw the show on Saturn. First of all - they charge almost next to nothing - 2 dollars for military (I think!) and the show was great! They were timely and informative and the actual show was very well done. We are definitely planning on working this into our "date night" schedule! :)

It's been a couple of years since I've been but I love their planetarium. Comfortable seats and the feeling of being their when they dim the lights. Great experience that more people in San Angelo should take advantage of.

It was so relaxing. Amazing to sit & look at the moon in the sky over ASU as it would appear over night.

Who knew that Angelo State University has this type of facility? Actually this is just one of the many treasures that ASU has to offer. Be sure to check out the entire university.

Closed during Spring Break. We were looking for something to do in the evening after we arrived here.

Different shows explain while displaying the solar system narrated by a recording,,relaxing, (recommending not to take young children..for they could lose interest) 6+ inexpensive, and not too long..about an hr and half.

I really enjoyed this place. Full of information and a visual treat.

Went with a friend to the 7pm show since there is very little to do in the area. It was really neat. The quality was amazing (it's in HD!). The seats were comfy, it was nicely air conditioned. The price was great ($3 per person). The show lasted maybe 45 minutes - just guessing. It's easy to get to and had plenty of parking. I just wish there were more shows so I can go back again before we move out of town.

The planetarium is located on the Angelo State University campus in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building. Public shows are offered on Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday afternoons for a minimal charge. We saw the current show "Stars of the Pharaohs" which described how the Ancient Egyptians used their knowledge of the stars to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align the pyamids and other huge structures. These aren't your father's planetarium presentations...closer to an IMAX movie!!The lobby outside the planetarium has a number of interesting displays of the stars and planets. The ASU planetarium has recently been renovated with the replacement of the old sky projector with a new digital projector. The old projector can be seen in the lobby.New seating is scheduled to be installed in the spring of 2011, which will make this an even more comfortable attraction. Overall a real gem for ASU and San Angelo. This is a great way to spend a couple of hours with the entire family, for very low cost. Lots of parking and easy access for visitors of all ages.
